Hello Bumble!

Picture of Hello Bumble!

Our story begins in June 2020, right smack in the middle of Covid. My (Tiffany) best friend, Michelle, decided that I needed to get out there and start meeting some new folks. She (not me) created a dating profile for me on Bumble, selected my photos, and viola. I was officially introduced to the world of online dating. It was very intimidating, but the first person I swiped right on was with Bill (believe it or not!), and we matched pretty quickly. I sent him a message and we quickly transistioned from talking on the app to text and talking on the phone. It truly felt like I was talking to someone I had known for years. That was how easy and fun and lovely it was during those first few conversations. It would take a few months later before we would have our first date!

First Date

Our first date was on 12-12-2020. The story of how this came to be is bittersweet, as after we had been talking on the phone for a couple of months, we stopped talking to each other from September until December! Due to miscommunication and misunderstanding, we both believed that the other was not interested in each other.

However, I (Tiff) could not get Bill off of my mind. He was the one I really wanted to explore and see if there was something to our instant connection and chemistry. God must have thought so too, because literally he would pop up in my head all the time. So, not too long after Thanksgiving, I decided to shoot my shot and sent him a text stating that I hoped he had had an amazing Thanksgiving with his girls, and that he was super excited for Christmas (my favorite holiday).

He returned my text a couple of hours later, and we instantly set a time to meet. Enough of this telephone business. LOL!

I drove out to his location in Dana Point and had dinner at the Wind and Sea at the Dana Point Harbor. It was decorated for Christmas and it was gorgeous. Again, our conversations were easy and it was like we never stopped. We then grabbed a cocktail to go (the strongest Margarita I have ever had in my life!) and walked around the marina.

We stopped to take a selfie under the Merry KissMe sign, and that was where we shared our first kiss.

I can confidently tell you that I was head over heels instantly.

The rest, as they say, is history.

Florida, a Helicopter Ride, and I Screamed YES!

In June of 2022, we decided to take a vacation to Clearwater, Florida. Bill planned it out so that we could see a couple of our favorite musicians to bookend our trip.

The night before we left, we got to see Chris Stapleton in San Diego. Then, we got up early and headed out to Florida. We stayed in a gorgeous hotel that had ocean views and it was just a magical week of delicious food, fun in the sun. Our favorite thing to do together is eat, drink and lay out. Haha!

Bill booked dinner reservations at a beautiful restaurant with stunning views. Then, he took me on a little road trip. I had to close my eyes while he drove us and he had me guess what we were going to do.

He had me open my eyes when we parked, and yall.....it was in front of a small airport.

We were going on a helicopter ride. Think of the epic dates on the Bachelor. Yeah....that!

I was so excited and the ride was so fun. I have some photos, although Bill took most of them. You will be able to see in our photo gallery that is posted. It was magical to just escape to the skies with the love of my life. He was grinning ear to ear, knowing that he had pulled off an epic surprise (I had no idea that he had more in store).

After our helicopter adventure, we then decided to head to a part of Clearwater that was nicknamed photographers beach. The reason? That particular beach is flooded with photographers and families and couples attempting to capture the perfect moment and shot. It is also incredibly beautiful. We walked along the beach for a bit, and we were approached by a photographer named Will. He was with his assistant and they were taking random photos and wanted to know if we would be okay with them taking photos of us.

We said sure!

Now, I know what you might be thinking. Tiff, seriously? A photographer randomly wants to take photos of you and Bill? Seriously?

I was still on a high from the helicopter ride, okay?!

They had us pose and took several shots of us as we gazed at each other and just giggled at how crazy this whole evening had been so far. By far the best date of our lives so far (other than our very first date).

The photographer then had me face the water, while my left hand was stretched back, holding on to Bills hand as he faced the photographer. It was at that moment, I heard the word Go.....

And Bill turned toward me and started speaking. I just stared at him and my mind was going a thousand miles a minute saying No FREAKING WAY. I am pretty sure I giggled nervously the entire time as Bill was talking and smiling and laughing and snorting! LOL!! He was so nervous and happy and I was giddy and nervous and sweating profusely. I was a mess!

Bill then got down on one knee, asked me to marry him.

I literally screamed YES!

Our random photographers were not so random after all as they had been a part of the plan the entire time. They even captured our helicopter ride. Bill had hired them awhile back to capture this moment. I had no idea and it was a spectacular surprise and incredible way to end our trip.

The next day, we went to see Coldplay, and then we headed home to celebrate with our friends and our family.

I cant wait to be Mrs. Tiffany Rhea Wedde
