Can I bring my child(ren)?
Unfortunately, children will not be permitted at the ceremony nor the reception. Ventana Big Sur does not allow children to stay on the premises.
What is "cocktail attire"?
Cocktail attire is a blend between casual and formal. Your attire should be elegant yet comfortable. Men should wear a suit and tie and women should wear a cocktail dress.
What is the addresses for the ceremony and reception venues?
The ceremony will be held at Sand Dollar Beach, Big Sur, CA. There will be signage to direct you down to the sand.
The reception will be at Ventana Big Sur, where all guests will have a pre-paid room for the night. Ventana Big Sur is a mere 25 minutes north of Sand Dollar Beach.
Will transportation be provided?
Yes. A shuttle will arrive at Ventana Big Sur once the you have checked in and will escort you to Sand Dollar Beach. The shuttles will only come once at 4:00 pm. They will take you back to the hotel after the ceremony at 6:00 pm.
However, guests are more than welcome to drive themselves to and from the venues. There is a $10 parking fee at Sand Dollar Beach.
Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony will be outdoors on the beach. We recommend bringing a light sweater in case of wind.
The reception will be held outdoors in a heated tent at Ventana Big Sur.
Are there any colors or styles you'd prefer guests to wear?
Yes. Please dress in neutral-colored, modest clothing. No red, black, or other vibrant colors. Muted greens, pinks, and blues are encouraged.
Am I allowed to bring a plus one?
No, no plus ones are allowed.
Will there be an open bar?
Yes, there will be an open bar!
Should I bring or send my wedding gift?
We'd prefer it if you sent your wedding gift rather than bringing it on the day of. You can mail it to: 25505 Hacienda Place, Carmel, CA, 93923.
What is the wedding day itinerary?
We ask all guests to arrive at Ventana Big Sur at 3:00 pm. Shuttles will be leaving at 4:00 pm to take you to the ceremony, which will begin at 5:00 pm. After the ceremony, the shuttles will take you back to the hotel at 6:00 pm. The reception will begin at 7:00 pm, leaving you one hour to relax, refresh, and explore the venue. The reception will end at 12:00 am, but guests are more than welcome to leave early to get a good night's sleep. Brunch will be served the next morning at 11:00 am.
Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?
We kindly ask that throughout the ceremony and reception you keep your cellphone completely turned off and away. We'd prefer all of our guests to be fully present in the moment. We will have a collection of photographs from the evening taken by a professional photographer that you will have access to!
