Our Story

Kelly and Tim’s story began the Sunday after Thanksgiving in 2019 at Cass Street Bar, where both ended up to watch the Packers game. Kelly already knew almost everyone in Tim’s friend group scattered around the bar — everyone except Tim. And Tim had never met Kelly. But the moment they started talking, the game faded into the background. They chatted easily through every quarter, then ended up at the pool table where Kelly sealed the afternoon by beating Tim. She walked out without exchanging numbers, but she left with a quiet certainty — if he was truly something special, he’d find a way to reach her.Spoiler: he did.

Once they started dating, Kelly and Tim became instant adventure partners. Some of their favorite early memories are from winter trips to Zion and Bryce Canyon, wandering through red rock landscapes dusted with snow, usually with no one else around. Those trips became their first traditions — peaceful, awe-filled, and shared side by side.

At home, cooking quickly became their love language. Weekend experiments turned into rituals: sourdough English muffins, shrimp rolls on homemade buns, poached cod, tomato tartes, lamb tagine — recipes that filled their kitchen with laughter, music, and the kind of comfort that comes from building a life together.

Their next big chapter began in July 2022, when they moved into their North Park home. In October 2023, they added a new (and very wiggly) member to the family — their black lab puppy, Gimli, who instantly became the center of their world.

Together, they’ve built a rhythm they love: summer vacations with the McCone family, cozy Thanksgivings in Traverse City with the Cosmas, and Christmas Eve celebrations in Seal Beach. Every season marked by family, food, traditions, and the feeling of home they find in one another.

The proposal was perfectly them: thoughtful, meaningful, and tied to the places that shaped Kelly’s childhood. Kelly had been told they were heading to a family BBQ in Seal Beach. Instead, Tim took her for a quick drink and then surprised her by leading her to the dunes, where he asked her to marry him in her hometown — a place woven into so many chapters of her life and now into theirs.

Today, Kelly and Tim are so excited to celebrate with the people who have been part of their journey. Their story began by chance, grew through adventure, deepened through shared traditions, and now continues into a future they can’t wait to build together.
