A Day to Remember: Tim & Nancy's Wedding

Our Wedding

Our story is a story of twos. For most people, “How We Met,” is just one story. Most people also have just one first date. And most people only have one wedding together. But we’re not most people.&nbsp; How is that? Nancy met Tim in 2022 cleaning up after Hurricane Ian. She remembers seeing a tall man in a straw hat and getting introduced by his daughter Paige. They talked briefly, but she knew she wanted to get to know him better.&nbsp; Tim met Nancy months later when her phone went off during church. He remembers the embarrassed, pretty woman who apologized and then (after service) asked about Paige. He wasn’t sure how she knew him or Paige, but was happy she did… Why are there two stories? Well, like any great love story, this one includes a man who is an idiot. He could pretend he remembers the first first time, but he doesn’t. If Nancy is angry about that, she covers it well by enjoying telling the story at every opportunity. In any case, thanks to persistence, providence, friends who couldn’t resist hinting they should go out, a few more missteps along the way, (not to mention James Cochrane: you know what you did…), we went on our first date in 2024.&nbsp;Well. Tim went on a first date. Like any great love story, the man can’t be the only one who is blind to something obvious. Nancy missed Tim’s Sunday school class. Being a dedicated student, she texted to ask for the notes. Being a dedicated teacher, (and like he would have done for anyone else, he swears,) Tim asked her to coffee instead. Three hours of conversation later, Tim had been on a great first date, and Nancy was confused because they hadn’t talked much about class.&nbsp; This time, the confusion was fixed quickly. A week later, Nancy went on her first date with Tim, and our story was finally off and running together, at the same time, with no more confusion or memory losses, (at least that either of them will admit).&nbsp; Quickly, we fell in love and found ways to spend more and more time together. We were officially engaged on July 19 (at the same coffee shop where Tim went on his first date with Nancy), and began making plans for our wedding. We married on the beach in a tiny ceremony on August 24 with our children and Tim’s mother, but want to celebrate our new relationship with you, our amazing community of friends and family, on November 2. We hope you’ll join us!

NUESTRA HISTORIA

Nuestra historia es una historia de dos. Para la mayoría de la gente, “Cómo nos conocimos” es sólo una historia.&nbsp;La mayoría de la gente también tiene sólo una primera cita. Y la mayoría de la gente sólo se casa una vez. Pero no somos la mayoría de la gente. ¿Cómo es eso? Nancy conoció a Tim en 2022 limpiando después del huracán Ian. Recuerda haber visto a un hombre alto con un sombrero de paja y haber sido presentada por su hija Paige. Hablaron brevemente, pero ella sabía que quería conocerlo mejor. Tim conoció a Nancy meses después cuando su teléfono sonó durante la iglesia. Recuerda a la mujer bonita y avergonzada que se disculpó y luego (después del servicio) preguntó por Paige. No estaba seguro de cómo ella lo conocía a él o a Paige, pero estaba feliz de saberlo... ¿Por qué hay dos historias? Bien. Tim tuvo una primera cita. Como toda gran historia de amor, el hombre no puede ser el único ciego ante algo obvio. Nancy faltó a la clase de escuela dominical de Tim. Como era una estudiante dedicada, envió un mensaje de texto para pedir las notas. Siendo un maestro dedicado (y como lo habría hecho por cualquier otra persona, jura), Tim la invitó a tomar un café. Tres horas de conversación después, Tim había tenido una gran primera cita y Nancy estaba confundida porque no habían hablado mucho sobre la clase.&nbsp;Esta vez, la confusión se solucionó rápidamente. Una semana después, Nancy tuvo su primera cita con Tim, y nuestra historia finalmente comenzó a funcionar juntos, al mismo tiempo, sin más confusión ni pérdidas de memoria (al menos eso cualquiera de los dos admitirá). Rápidamente nos enamoramos y encontramos formas de pasar cada vez más tiempo juntos. Nos comprometimos oficialmente el 19 de julio (en la misma cafetería donde Tim y Nancy fueron a su primera cita) y comenzamos a hacer planes para nuestra boda. Nos casamos en la playa en una pequeña ceremonia el 24 de agosto con nuestros hijos y la madre de Tim, pero queremos celebrar nuestra nueva relación con ustedes, nuestra increíble comunidad de amigos y familiares, el 2 de noviembre. ¡Esperamos que te unas a nosotros!

We are blessed to have Pastor Larry Trotter officiate our wedding. His guidance and presence mean so much to us, and we are excited for him to lead us through this special ceremony.

Valentina, our sweet flower girl, will be scattering petals of joy and love down the aisle. Hailing all the way from Argentina, she brings a radiant smile and her own special charm to our wedding. We are so blessed to have her play such a beautiful role in our day.
