This story is long but the everlasting detail is important. Our story started back in 2015.... Dylan and Timeri were both juniors at Collierville High School. The first time Dylan and Timeri ever met was at a Collierville basketball game. They stood beside each other unknowingly and neither remember words (if any) were exchanged at this time.
Fast forward a couple weeks, its time for the annual girls ask guys high school formal dance. Timeri decided to ask her good friend Jack at the time. Now, we all know you have to get creative with how you ask someone to formal... so Timeri reaches out to Jacks good friend, Dylan.. to keep Jack busy while she decorates his car in sticky notes. (now Timeri and Dylan have each others phone numbers.) Dylan shows up with Jack for Timeri to ask him to formal...this is Timeri and Dylans second encounter. To Timeris surprise later that night, Dylan texts her asking if she wanted to go grab a bite to eat one night and study for finals.. What she didnt know at the time, is Dylan and Jack had been discussing how Dylan was beginning to like Timeri. Jack had offered for Dylan to go to formal with Timeri since him and her were just friends. Dylan insisted Jack still take her.
Later that week, Dylan and Timeri meet at McAlisters for a study date...they spent hours talking in the far left booth in the back until the restaurant closed (and did zero studying for finals). Dylan walks her to her car and gives her a kiss to say goodbye. Both of them were on cloud nine!
After that night, the two start spending more and more time together, before school, walking to classes together and after school (when Dylan didnt have soccer practice), and on the weekends, Dylan would pick Timeri up in his black 2007 Toyota Sequoia (Sambo). They would aimlessly drive around for hours, looking at Christmas lights or sometimes looking at nothing at all just driving, talking, and getting to know each other.
Fast forward to February 2016, Dylan and Timeri had been talking for a couple months now. On February 14th, Timeri comes home to a build-a-bear box with a balloon tied to it sitting on her door step. The balloon has a message written on it Pop Me. Inside the ballon was a note that said “be ready at 6”, and inside the Build-A-Bear box was a gift card and another note that said “OOPS! The bear isn’t in here... guess youll have to make it yourself! <3 Dyl”. Dylan picked her up at 6 and they went to Build-A-Bear, then to their favorite sushi spot, Fuji, for dinner where he asked her to officially be his girlfriend.
The next month, Timeri was invited on a family trip to Crossville, Tennessee with Dylans family. On this trip Dylan told Timeri he loved her for the first time.
Jump ahead 1 year, to May 2017, high school graduation. The two had been dating a little over a year and still were as in love than ever. Timeri was going to the University of Memphis and Dylan was going to Southwest community college, so the two had no worries about continuing their relationship.
In 2018 about a year or so into college Dylan decided to pursue a career in Commercial Diving, where he would have to go off to school in Jacksonville, Florida for 9 months. This worried Timeri since the idea of long distance was unknown.
Despite the challenges of long distance, the two stuck it out with a visit here and there while Dylan was in Jacksonville.
Dylan graduated as Valedictorian of his class in May of 2019. Unbeknownst to Timeri, he had already be considering job opportunities offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. Just as they thought long distance was over, Dylan came home to Collierville, for 18 hours before accepting a job in Louisiana where he had to start immediately. He committed to almost 3 years of working offshore for 6-8 months at a time with no cell service or ways to communicate other than the boat landline. As you can imagine, these years were extremely trying on Dylan and Timeris relationship and even resulting in a couple of break-ups.
On August 24th, 2020, it had been months since Dylan and Timeri had last seen each other.
Timeri was at a family friends house with her mom and they asked her to answer the door to get a pizza being delivered... to her shock there was no pizza man, but Dylan standing there smiling big! He explained to her that he chose to come home for good and pursue their relationship and a life together. A couple months later the two of them moved in together; 2 years after that, they bought their first house together in Collierville, TN, in June of 2022.
On March 18th of 2023, Dylan proposed to Timeri on the back porch of their home with friends and family there to share this special moment with them.
Dylan and Timeri have discovered the best memories are the ones theyve made together. They cant wait to share their special day with those of you who have been a part of their journey, on October 5th, 2024!
