We Found the Type of Love the Muppets Sing About

Tim and Rachel met in 2014 at a Newman Center event in college. Rachel remembers that Tim was friendly, welcoming, and cute, and Tim remembers enjoying the chat about their favorite books. A friendship grew between the two of them, with Rachel playfully teasing Tim whenever he used the Newman center, where Rachel was treasurer, to study. It wasn’t long before the two started dating.&nbsp; Their differences—which once seemed big—came between them, and eventually when Rachel moved to Maryland, they split up for good (or so they thought). Despite life taking them in different directions (literally on opposite ends of the country), they remained good friends. There was a mutual trust and kindness between them. They always found in each other someone they could go to for encouragement, someone who would listen and would understand. For about six years, they went on telling themselves that they didn’t work as a couple, yet there was always something about the other that they just couldn’t forget.&nbsp; When they reunited at a mutual friend’s wedding in 2021, they found that they had both grown and that the differences that once seemed to keep them apart, weren’t as big as they had seemed all those years ago. They decided they would give it one more try between them. Finally, the timing just felt right, and all those years of friendship had made their bond stronger than they realized. When they look back now, it seems crazy that they were so convinced that they weren’t right for each other, but at the same time, they both feel that they needed that time to grow. It seems that even during their years apart, God was guiding them back together. Now they’re so thrilled to be starting this new journey together with their friends and family.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

For Rachel, life without her sister, Maggie, would not be as bright. Maggie has become her dearest friend, confidant, conscience,  unlicensed therapist, email editor, and much more. Maggie is the Steve Rogers to Rachel’s Bucky Barnes, the Robin to her Batman, the Statler to her Waldorf. Maggie will be serving as Rachel’s Maid of Honor (or Old-Maid of Honor, as she likes to call herself) and there is no one else who is better suited for the job.

Rachel never imagined she would get to be roommates with her cousin and childhood friend Nicole, but fate brought these two together when Rach moved to Texas! Living with Nicole has been like living with a sister—one that makes delicious bruschetta. *Chef’s kiss.* Thoughtful, hilarious, and deeply caring, Nicole is the kind of friend Rachel is proud to call family, and she is equally proud to have Nicole celebrating with her as she begins this next, big adventure!

When Rachel heard Emily was looking for someone to help her co-teach a CCD class, Rachel reached out and the two clicked right away—almost as if they had known each other their whole lives! Emily and Rachel still share that sister-like bond and enjoy spending hours chatting, laughing, and encouraging each other.  Receiving updates about Emily’s baby, Luke, and fashioning Emily’s handmade stickers (her shop, SanctaRosa, can be found on Etsy!) on Rachel’s notebooks are heartwarming bonuses of their friendship. What a gift it is to have such a sweet friend beside Rachel on her wedding day.

Best friends since middle school, Sarah and Rachel have grown up together and share a bond that has lasted throughout the many stages of their lives. Though they live in different parts of the country, their friendship runs deep. Sarah’s quick wit and scientific mind paired with Rachel’s humor and reflectiveness make for great conversations between these two, and there’s no question that they’ll be laughing at each other’s jokes even when they’re old and gray. Having Sarah with her on Rachel’s wedding day is simply a no-brainer.

When Rachel met Anne Marie at their college Newman Center, their friendship was so immediate that Rachel asked her that same day if she wanted to move in with her. Anne Marie said no. But their friendship grew strong—so much so that Anne Marie volunteered to drive across country with Rach to help her move. After Rachel brought cigars into the group, Anne Marie even took to joking that Rachel is her “drug dealer.” Anne Marie is always there to offer support and wisdom, and she is a mutual friend of Rachel and Tim. They couldn’t imagine their special day without her.

Vatos locos since middle school. Tim and Charlie have been there for each other through thick and thin. They’ve been together in their heartbreak, goofy happenings, and their first Warzone win!

Carlos AKA “Charlie”

Charles is the tech wizard in the group. You can bet he’s got the technological drip from home IoT applications to his smartwatch. Charles is a gentleman and a scholar and has been one of Tim’s closest friends since middle school.

MCz has been one of Tim’s soul bros since middle school. He’s been a strong brother to lean on and always ready to have Tim’s back no matter what!

MH and Tim met in seventh grade in the homeroom. MH is always ready to crack jokes and tease his friends, but he’s loyal to the end. He’s the creator and founder of the “Zorros Crew” way back in high school.

Eddie doesn’t have a formal nickname, but he’s had many over the years. Buff, P90 Flex, Eddie Bros, and many more. Tim and Eddie met in high school. They’ve been bonding over math jokes, having a good time goofing off, and studying together up through community college.
