Tim reached out to Betsysysy on Plenty of Fish. This was a dating website - a foreign concept to younger AND older folks! This was after the age of letter writing and before the age of DMing. (Whoa. Dating ourselves. You want a story, don't you?!)

They wrote emails for a month before exchanging phone numbers and texting for week - then meeting for the first time after. They agreed to meet at the Milwaukee Sail Loft, in downtown Milwaukee.

Tim had arrived in his wicked sweet carriage aka the not at all scary van with a broken back window that was held together with duct tape and saran wrap. Which he decided to stealthfully hide a few blocks away as to not amaze her too much on the first date. He then waited for his date to arrive at The Sail Loft.

Betsy looked up the menu to The Sail Loft and realized that she wasn't sure she could financially keep up with somene who suggested drinks and an appetizer at a Seafood Restaurant on the first date. "Extra bread and water for me, thanks!"

Lo the fool, she activated his trap card! Thinking of him of high wealth, but the spell of Groupon allowed him to do such things without question. His windowless chariot blocks away would state otherwise. So as not owe the wicked handsome prince as he whisked away for a whiz, Betsy vowed to cover the cost of the fare. As the cheque came forth; it shown a mere 5 pence was owed. (That's $5, folks.)

By the Power of Groupon, the debt was paid.

...The date went well and upon departure, Tim and Betsy exchanged an akward peck on the lips before darting in opposite directions. Cupid, fluttering in the distance, is rumored to have shook his head.

The next 10 years brought the two of them closer together. Many ... okay, everyone ... said the two of them should get married. Tim and Betsy had discussed this many times and never saw the future without one another. Marriage? Nah. It just wasn't in the cards.

Until the day it was. The day before Tim proposed, if you had asked Betsy if they were ever getting married, she would've told you "no." ... And then Tim decided to make Betsy a liar. In the sweetest way possible.
