We are nothing without our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who has redeemed our lives and set us free from bondage to sin. Through His life, death and resurrection, He has paid the penalty we deserve for our sin and defeated death. This is a free gift of grace to us; through faith, we are now given full access to God through His Son. By believing in His name, we now have the hope of eternal life with Him. "Believe on the Lord and you will be saved..." (Acts 16:31a).
Because of the hope we have in Jesus, we have chosen 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 as our wedding text. We encourage you to spend time thinking about this passage prior to our wedding!
[17] Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. [18] All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; [19] that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. [20] Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. [21] For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
2 Corinthians 5:17–21
These are the words we think will best describe our wedding. We hope you will enjoy what feels like a "fancy night out" with great food and dancing! We are so excited to have our reception music being played live by the DLO Big Band, of Kalispell, Montana.
Dust off your shoes, because this is a dancing wedding reception! One of the greatest gifts you could give to us as a couple is to enjoy this evening to the fullest. Enjoy the music, enjoy the band, and dance it up! Our band will be playing tons of classic swing music, which lends itself well to an East Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, or just getting on the dance floor to boogie. Have tons of fun!
We don't expect anyone to be an expert dancer, but if you would enjoy preparing a bit for our wedding, click on the links above to learn.
For your convenience, here are the songs we are singing during our wedding ceremony. If you do not already know them, please enjoy familiarizing yourself with them ahead of time! (Click on the title to listen.)
How Deep The Father's Love For Us
Verse 1
How deep the Father's love for us,
how vast beyond all mea-sure,
that He should give His on – ly Son
to make a wretch His trea-sure.
How great the pain of searing loss,
the Father turns His face away
as wounds which mar the cho – sen one
bring many sons to glo -ry
Verse 2
Behold the Man up-on a cross,
my sin upon His shoul-ders.
Ashamed, I hear my mock – ing voice
call out among the scof - fers.
It was my sin that held Him there
until it was accomplished.
His dying breath has brought me life;
I know that it is finished
Verse 3
I will not boast in anything,
no gift, no power, no wisdom.
But I will boast in Je – sus Christ,
His death and resurrection.
Why should I gain from His re – ward?
I cannot give an answ - er.
But this I know with all my heart:
His wounds have paid my ransom.
Ending
Why should I gain from His re – ward?
I cannot give an answ - er.
But this I know with all my heart:
His wounds have paid my ransom.
Christ Our Hope in Life and Death
Verse 1
What is our hope in life and death?
Christ a - lone, Christ a - lone
What is our only confi - dence?
That our souls to him be-long
Who holds our days within his hand?
What comes, a - part from his com - mand?
And what will keep us to the end?
The love of Christ in which we stand
Chorus 1
O sing halle - lujah!
Our hope springs e - ternal
O sing halle - lujah!
Now and ever we con -fess
Christ our hope in life and death
Verse 2
What Truth can calm the troubled soul
God is good! God is good
Where is his grace and godness known?
In Our Great Redeemer's Blood
Who holds our faith when fears arise
Who stands above the stormy trial
Who sends the waves that bring us nigh
Un - to the shore, the rock of Christ
Verse 3
Unto the grave, what shall we sing?
Christ, he lives! Christ, he lives!
And what re - ward will heaven bring?
Ever - lasting life with him
There we will rise to meet the Lord
Then sin and death will be de - stroyed
And we will feast in endless joy
When Christ is ours for - ever -more
