The joys of online dating wasn't going very joyful for either one of us. At the point of giving up dating, Tina came across Chris's profile and thought she'd give him a chance. She swiped right and lo and behold Chris swiped right as well. We began messaging on a regular basis. Chris worked graveyard at that time and Tina is a night owl, so there were a lot of late night and early morning conversations spent getting to know each other. Tina convinced Chris to meet in person after two weeks of messaging.
We chose to meet at a local coffee shop. Chris got there early (as usual). Tina was late, like normal. When Tina walked in and saw Chris sitting there, she felt relieved that he looked like his profile pictures. He was as easy to talk to in person as he was online, plus he was super cute. He made her laugh and made her feel safe.
When Chris met Tina, he felt like he could be his true self for the first time in a very long time. He could be open and honest about everything and have a chance to be happy with someone.
After that first meeting, we talked every day and scheduled a first official date the very next week. After a few more dates Chris asked Tina to be his girlfriend. She gladly accepted and a year and a half later, Chris proposed.
Chris proposed on June 2nd, 2023 at Ocean Shores, WA. It was the weekend of the annual Kite Festival. Chris thought this would be a great opportunity for a proposal and Tina would have no clue. However, Tina did have a clue that THIS might be the weekend. But what she didn't know was that her best friend Erin and family were in on the surprise. It happened on the beach at sunset and Tina said "YES!!!"
