Joe and Tina met six years ago. Joe was a martial arts assistant instructor and Tina was a new student looking to find a new passion. Joe invested time into training Tina and a friendship began to bloom. Eventually, it was impossible to deny their feelings for one another.

Joe and Tina had deep, emotionally vulnerable discussions about faith, relationships, parenting, and what life “could be.” One of the most memorable was a conversation on "what love is?" Together they adopted the concept that love is a garden, which takes work to grow. Each person comes to the garden every day, works to grow the garden, help it bloom. The gardeners both nurture and prune the plants while pulling the weeds. There are times when one gardener will need to work harder than the other or may have the skilled needed to be more successful but it takes two people to make the whole garden bloom – one person working is not enough. Like a garden whose plants can survive without attention for a short time, so can a relationship but you must always pay attention to the garden if you want it to thrive.
