Some people may think we met at Samford. And while that is somewhat true, there is a little more to the story of how we got there. Titus was a sophomore from Macon, Georgia studying marketing and having one of the best track seasons of his career while Jansyn was a freshman from Huntsville, Alabama studying accounting and Spanish and already making a big impact on campus when something unexpected happened…Covid. The two were sent back to their hometowns to quarantine, after only having short glimpses of each other on campus. However, they were after seeing each other intrigued.

While the two were back home, finishing their semesters, and trying to maintain all of the college friendships, Jansyn became better friends with India Rowe (one of the future bridesmaids). What started with just chats about assignments and life, turned into a genuine friendship. And as that goes, they naturally started talking about boys and relationships. When Jansyn mentioned she wanted to start dating to India, India suggested someone who she thought Jansyn would “get along with”, Titus Moore. She convinced her to follow him on Instagram, and luckily he followed her back.

Titus saw her Instagram and recognized her to be the same cute girl from the caf. Ignorance took over and he thought it was just cool that she followed him and went about his merry day. Jansyn, however, began scheming. She posted a photo of her spending quarantine painting, to see if he would like the post or if his follow back on instagram was out of pity. Titus thought it was a cool photo and that she was really pretty, so he liked the photo.

Unfortunately, that was the end of Jansyn’s scheme and she decided she would just wait until the fall and hope they would just meet organically on campus. That was until India texted Jansyn and told her Titus, who did not post often on instagram, had posted a track video. After India had confirmed with her boyfriend and Titus’ friend, Cam Gardner (a future groomsmen) that he was indeed single, she convinced Jansyn to dm him on instagram. After drafting a message for hours with Kelsey (the future maid of honor), a simple, yet thoughtful message was sent:

Titus later smoothly asked for Jansyn’s number and they began texting, facetiming, and streaming movies together over quarantine. Jansyn was impressed with all of the effort Titus was putting in virtually. The two would talk from that March until finally meeting in person in August. When they saw each other in person, the connection they had built over the phone was even stronger in person. They started dating on September 20th, 2020, were engaged September 1st, 2023, and will be married November 16, 2024! The couple plans to live in Birmingham after the wedding.
