Will there be a rehearsal dinner?
YES! Our rehearsal dinner is at Kilkea Castle on Tuesday night at Hermione’s restaurant. Everyone with a wedding invite is welcome to attend the rehearsal dinner. It will be buffet style, a bit more laidback, visiting with friends and family before the big day. It’s at 6:30pm at Kilkea Castle
Will we be in Dublin the weekend before the wedding?
YES! Todd and I will be flying into Dublin on August 30th, staying the weekend in Dublin and then heading to the castle on Monday Sept 2 at 12pm. We have a bus rental for anyone who would like a complimentary ride from Dublin to Kilkea on that day. All are welcome to spent that weekend in Dublin with us and explore Dublin on your own. This is why we have a block of rooms at The Temple Bar Hotel. Please see the “Travel” section of our website for info on this and booking code.
Best transport to Kilkea from Dublin? And vise versa?
A few options here…
1. PRIVATE BUS
Todd and I have a bus booked for Monday Sept. 2 at 12pm to take as many as 28 people to Kilkea Castle. We would be meeting at The Temple Bar Hotel at 12pm sharp. This bus will also do a return trip on Thursday Sept. 5 - departing Kilkea Castle around 12-1pm ish and dropping folks back to The Temple Bar hotel, where it’s quite simple to grab a cab to the airport.
2. TRAIN
There is a train from Dublin Heuston station to Athy (Athy is the closest local town) and you can cab to the castle from there quite easily. It is best to book train tickets ahead of time, these can be found at IrishRail.IE
3. TAXI/UBER/LYFT - these can get quite pricey but are of course always an option from Dublin Airport or City Center.
