It all started with two very different people crossing paths in the most unexpected way.

Mae was an undergraduate Midwife and Nursing student, often found on the go – whether it was racing down the road or rushing through the wards of RBWH at Herston. She was always the ray of sunshine in every room, full of energy, laughter, and kindness.

Me (Tom), on the other hand, had just started my Bachelor of Business after quitting engineering and still finding my way. My world revolved around the campus (mainly the Red Room) or hanging out with friends, either playing games or enjoying a drink (or both). I never imagined I'd meet someone like Mae.

Our paths first crossed at a student society (TAISA) event, though it wasn’t exactly the smoothest of starts. We didn’t exactly hit it off at first – there was a little bit of awkwardness and a whole lot of misunderstanding.

However, fate had different plans for us…
