Toni & Ryan

October 19, 2024 • Zion, IL

How it started

17 years ago, they met at a bar. Ryan was the DJ and Toni was just there to have a good time with friends. Ryan thought she was cute and different from the other girls. Toni thought he was cool and handsome, and he didn't come off like a jerk. They met, they talked, and ended up going on a few dates and really enjoyed each other's company. Shortly later, Toni stopped talking to Ryan to pursue another relationship that didn't go anywhere.
11 years later, around Valentine's Day, Toni went to a local hangout with her girls, and she sees a man across the bar. He's cute and seems to be alone. She approaches the bar to order a drink and looks at this familiar man and asks him his name. He tells her and asks her what her name was. It was at that moment they realized who each other was. 11 years had changed their appearances enough that they didn't recognize each other.
They started to date, and it was like they never stopped.

Over the Years

Ryan and Toni got to know each other again and realized that they had a lot in common. They both love animals and music. They share a common interest in nerdy things like comic book movies, he loves Batman, and she loves anything Marvel.
They both love to cook and have drinks, and party with friends almost as much as they like to relax at home with their cats. Ryan and Toni both love children but have no desire to have any of their own. They bonded over the fact that their fathers had passed in horrible ways and shared their love for their mothers.
Over the past 6 years, they have been there for each other while they change careers and deal with difficult life changes.

Now

On September 9th, 2023, at 10pm, Ryan and Toni were listening to music and talking to Toni's mom. When Jill left the room, Ryan got down to one knee and asked her to marry him. She was stunned and speechless. With no hesitation, she said yes.
Planning the wedding was cut short due to the sudden death of Toni's mom right after Thanksgiving.
Now they are starting to plan the wedding again and are looking forward to the big day. They hope it's the best party of the year.
