THE MEETING
We first met in the 6th grade, having many classes together but unfortunately, we were separated shortly after when I (Tonisha) moved away and started at a new school. Years later, we met again in our freshman year of High School, where we both played on the same softball team. An amazing friendship began to blossom, as we found ourselves lost in conversation and spent every day together realizing just how much we had in common. For about a year, our feelings for each other continued to get stronger, but we were scared to admit it, but eventually we confessed the love that we had for each other. A week later, on January 9th, 2015, Messiah surprised me with flowers and ice cream (my absolute favorite treat) and we made it official.
BUILDING A LIFE TOGETHER
Over the course of 8 years, Tonisha and Messiah have developed a life together. One of their biggest fulfillments was becoming parents to their beautiful daughter Jaelene. When they are not busy spoiling her, they love to spend time together playing video games, exploring new eateries, swimming, and planning fun dates such as arcades, going to the movies and shopping for new sneakers.
THE PROPOSAL

At this point we were 3 years in to our relationship and 7 months pregnant, I knew from the start that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with Tonisha but never actually thought we could afford to have a nice wedding. So I saved and planned ahead and thought during our maternity shoot would be the perfect time to propose since we would already have a photographer there. The photographer and I spoke before hand to plan it out, I wanted us to be back to back with me holding the ring and then on 3 she would tell us to turn around and just look at each other to get a Live Photo. But when we turned around I was already on my knee, holding the ring out. At first Tonisha thought I was playing around and was confused on how I got ahold of her promise ring I had giving her but then she realized it was a new ring, and the tears starting coming out! Even though I knew she would say yes, I was still so nervous to ask the girl of my dreams to marry me but it made me so happy that she says yes. An now will we finally be married!
