Our Love Story

The Beginning of our Story

Garett and I met sometime in early 2021, but didn’t really talk to each other. In fact, our first conversation was about him running for president in 2036. At the time I had the same idea, so I jokingly told him he could be my running mate.

Fast forward to December 2021 as my birthday was approaching. My mom told me that she “invited that guy Garett” to my birthday dinner. I was kinda shocked because I didn’t know him but was alright with the invitation.

Surprisingly, he showed up and I remember he gave me a candle, some milk duds, and $30.

Around 3 months later, I realized that I liked him. Slowly, I began to build up a friendship with him that turned into us “talking” by the end of the summer.

Building our Relationship

Funny enough, one of the first things we did in our relationship was sell a bunch of stuff. Just moments before this picture was taken, I had unintentionally sold a $70 game for $10.

In early 2023, Garett and I became officially “boyfriend and girlfriend”. This photo was from a date we had, where he took me to the goodwill outlet store and the mall. He also had me try a mussel for the first time at a restaurant. (Not my favorite thing btw)

In the early spring of 2024, we both started cracking down on saving money and getting things ready for the process of buying a house.
While it seemed unlikely that we’d be able to get one so soon, we put in an offer on two houses. The first one wasn’t accepted but the second was accepted the next day.
We closed on our house on June 25th, 2024

Garett proposed at Lewes Beach on the 4th of July. I figured he was going to when he said we were doing something on that day. My sister kept telling me it wasn’t going to happen to keep the surprise. By the time he popped the question, I had ruined my makeup, changed out of the special dress I bought for the moment, and scratched off my nail polish.

I wouldn’t have it any other way though.
