Come visit where Rick works and take a hike on the 1.2 mile boardwalk through a cypress swamp! Blue flag irises should be blooming along the boardwalk and March is a great time to see alligators, snakes, birds, and maybe even otters! Plan to go in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the crowds.
A Lee County Parks and Recreation facility, Manatee Park is a seasonal place for viewing wild manatees. Manatees gather at the site in search of warm water during cool winter months when the Gulf of Mexico drops below 68 degrees. Lucky visitors may be able to see dozens of manatees up close! Be sure to check the website for water temperatures and go early to beat the large crowds.

A well kept secret, Bunche Beach is a natural beach located in Fort Myers near the Sanibel Causeway. This beach is popular for swimming, fishing, and birdwatching (best time for birding is low tide). Kayak rentals are also available here though Kayak Excursions, which offers half-day rentals or guided ecotours. This is a great beach to watch the sun set over San Carlos Bay!
