While she was at University of South Carolina, Tori was always a fan of rugby boys so when her good friend, Jen, started inviting Tori to her husband’s rugby team it was only a matter of time before one of them caught her eye.

In 2019, Tori went to the Wilmington Rugby team’s annual Halloween party with some friends, one of whom she had been planning on setting Pete up with. After a few rounds of drinks, Tori and Pete went to the bar to debrief on if Pete was feeling the set up, only to look across the bar to see one of Pete’s teammates steal the girl.

Pete and Tori spent the rest of the night talking and shortly after, Pete reached via Facebook Messenger to set up their first date: Brunch at Kid Shelleens. Pete later told people that he knew he really liked Tori because when their date was going so well it stretched from brunch to later in the afternoon, he tried very hard not to watch the Eagles game on the screens above her head.

After four years of dating, Pete planned a trip to Baltimore to visit some of his friends and proposed in the Inner Harbor on a beautiful December afternoon at the end of 2023.
