Our Wedding

David and Traci both worked at Lowes together and bonded over working with the public and Disney. Their relationship started in one of the hardest times to date (COVID). While this limited the options of places they could go they never let it stop them. Throughout there time together they have loved to travel visiting family, Disney and Universal. David and Traci first started talking and fell in love in 2020 over a shared passion for Disney. David had a Disney plus membership that he shared with Traci and continued to text about what shows and movies she had then watched. Traci was instantly attracted to David due to his charisma and bright personality. They enjoyed many of the same things including the outdoors, dogs and family. David on the other hand needed more convincing that he was ready for a relationship. After many months of talking coordinating and even going on dates David finally decided he was committed and wanted to continue on this amazing journey.

While they started with a love of Disney and movies it wasn't long till David had roped Traci in to tagging along on golf days. While Traci loathed the idea of golf at first she has always had a passion for reading and found that riding shotgun on the golf cart while he golfed allowed her to read and be outside. After a year of just riding Traci started joining David on the golf course and learning the game. Now Traci has her own set of clubs and they often travel to new courses to try and visit.

Shortly after moving in together they started the journey of becoming pet owners. While it started with 6 fish all named after Disney characters ( Belle, Hulk, Sully, Hawk eye, Gaston, Nemo) it grew to their beautiful dog.Belle ( named after Traci's favorite Disney character) a chocolate lab rescue. Belle has a unique personality and quickly won over the family hearts.

In December of 2023 the long awaited family Disney trip occurred. Meanwhile without Traci knowing the family and David had been planning a special proposal. David waited till everyone was in "France" and popped the question with Belle.

Our Story

The wedding ceremony will take place on the beach in front of the venue. You will have a chair provided and we are not picking sides. The reception will follow inside of the building. Picture of the venue front below. Address for Venue is 801 Ocean Event center, Ocean dr, Oak Island. As much as we love children we are having a kid free wedding due to size and location of the event. We thank you for your understanding!

To the left of the venue is a parking lot that will be reserved for the elderly and handicap parking. We will have someone available to help direct you to other parking as needed as well as a map on this page with parking designated. We ask that you please be respectful and if you wish to drop someone off and then park let the parking attendant know.

The orange highlighted area is for handicap and elderly parking. The blue areas are public parking. Wedding party and family will be parked at the houses located beside the venue.

The ceremony will be unplugged and signs will remind you of this. Please be respectful as we paid for a photographer so that you all could enjoy the event with us. We will have a QR code for you to be able to take pictures and add them to the wedding gallery. We ask that you wait for us to post about the wedding and pictures before posting on social media.

The wedding will begin at 4:00pm for best tide time.You may begin to arrive as early as 3:30 and will not be permitted access before that time. Located on the right side is the entrance to the inside of the building should you need it for the restroom or water before the ceremony. The ceremony will take place on the beach where chairs will be provided as well as brushes to remove any sand from your feet. You are welcome to leave your shoes as there will be a place to put them if you prefer. We ask that you dress for a fall wedding on the beach. Be comfortable but no jeans or women's shorts please. We cannot predict the weather as this is hurricane season on the beach! We do have an alternate plan if it is raining or to windy but hot or cold the show must go on!

Food provided will be after the ceremony and served around 4:30-5:00 pm. This will be appetizers and other light foods. Please plan accordingly as we all eat at different times. Due to venue restrictions the wedding will end promptly at 9 and be asked to leave. We do plan to continue to be with people and hang out on the beach once we clean the venue and remove our things. You are welcome to go to the beach area and wait if you would like to continue to celebrate. There will be an open bar of beer and wine provided in leu of paying for drinks if you would like to contribute to the honey moon fund please feel free! No liqueur is allowed on the site!
