I have to say up front, I’m sorry. It has fallen to me to write this bio of Trace and my relationship, and I will do my best. No promises though. Also, just to clarify, there is just no way that I can say everything I want to here in 300 words, so maybe you (yes you) will consider buying me coffee or dinner and I’ll answer any follow up questions you may have. Now, down to business. Trace and I met after church one day. Despite going to the same church for over a year, we never crossed paths, saw one another, nothing!. I guess that was God giving us time to prepare. Well, after the 5pm service, we would grab dinner, and one day, there was just one seat left amidst the 30 chairs aggregated together outside the Starbucks on Imperial and Brea Blvd. I sat down, Chipotle burrito in hand (#sponsor), and sitting across from me were 4 very pretty korean women, who you all may know as the Honey Badger Sisters. We chatted it up talking about church life, laughing, jobs, more laughing, food, did I mention we were laughing? As quickly as it started, it ended. I had work, so I said my goodbyes and headed out. I knew we were immediate friends because I got 4 facebook invites within 5 minutes. Well, since my word count is running out faster than Barry Allen, skip forward a year. Trace and I had our first date at this dim sum restaurant called Ho Sum’s. I missed the turn off the freeway THREE TIMES. I hadn’t had a date in a few years, and Trace is beautiful, so can you blame me for being nervous? Not going to lie to you, on that first date, I held Tracie’s hand, asked her to be my girlfriend, and kissed her at the end of the night. It’s not about knowing what I wanted or anything. It’s that I had loved Trace for a long time, and God brought us together in His time. The time was right...that’s all. Getting a Disneyland pass was a no-brainer. She loves Disney, what else is there to think about? Well I’ll tell you what else there is to think about, Disney freaking changing their parking rules and cost three times and now you have to innovate to avoid a $20 a pop parking charge. Gosh, it’s like they DONT want us to go anymore. Lol. Final Disney thought&hellip;.Trace WAS better at Buzz Lightyear...but there’s a new sheriff in town. I need to pause here because I’m making a classic mistake... I’m just telling you what we do, not how we feel (classic mistake for me). In case you can’t tell, I love Tracie. I told her I loved her on our second date, and I don’t apologize one bit for it. I love her love for other people. Plain and simple. The reason is I’m not like that. In that way, Trace was just different from me, and I knew that I wanted that same heart for people - that I needed it. Similarly, Trace says that I give her hope&hellip;.hope to find the best version of herself both in this life and the next. Well, I don’t have time to get into the rest, but we’ve had our share of tears and struggle too. Job change, job loss, family changes, too busy to even see one another&hellip;.you’ve all been there -- we have too. Thank you so much for taking the time to come and celebrate with us. I promise, Trace and I are doing everything we can to make this not just about us, but you too. If you come to this wedding and don’t have a smile, enjoy yourself, and leave feeling rested and fulfilled, then we didn’t do our job. Can’t wait to see you on the dance floor. -Jaken
