Matt and I began dating our sophomore year of high school after I tried to teach him how to shuffle cards at a mutual friend's house (spoiler alert, it is 10 years later and he still can't shuffle cards)! We continued to date throughout high school, and we still laugh about all of the memories we made during those three years!
Fast forward to our senior year of college, one night I was watching The Bachelor with my friends, when I randomly got a phone call from Matt. I was at Mount Union, and Matt was at Dayton, and we didn't normally talk on a frequent basis, much less on the phone. That phone call rekindled our relationship, and we began to talk more frequently again. These talks eventually turned into visits, and by the end of our senior year, we were dating again!
We did long distance while I was teaching in Columbus and Matt was beginning his first year in the Army (this time our long distance relationship was successful, unlike our effort in high school, haha), and after a year I moved to Clarksville, TN to be with him! These past three years in Tennessee have been full of growth, love and laughter. This past July, we got engaged on a random night during COVID, while enjoying wine and cheese (the two best things in life), and Matt made a playlist with songs that have played a part in our relationship over the past ten years!
We can't wait to celebrate with everyone who has played such a special part in our relationship, and we are thankful for each and every one of you!
