It was Summer 2015 and both Travis and Zach were home from college. Travis messaged Zach on an app and the rest is history. Although 45 minutes late to their first date, Travis knew right away that Zach was going to make a big impact on his life. Little did he know, 10 years later, he'd be standing at the alter saying "I Do". Zach needed a few more dates to convince him, but knew that Travis would be an important force in his life forever.

They loved going on free dates to walk around Colonial Williamsburg and/or Richmond. The college budget was real in 2015. Believe it or not, the two loved exploring...as long as they were together. Travis and Zachary quite literally matured as adults together. From coming out of the closet, earning 4 degrees together, and starting careers, they have been side-by-side, hand-in-hand through it all.

After 2 years of long distance in 2017, Travis decided to move 4 hours away to live with Zach in Radford, Virginia. For over 6 years, they created a community in Southwest Virginia. Travis was a teacher in a local school system and Zachary found his passion in higher education at Radford University. However, they knew they both wanted to be closer to family back on the East Coast of Virginia. In 2023, after 8 years of dating, they purchased a house together in Newport News. Similarly, that year is the year they decided to make it "official" and tie the knot.
