Where is the venue? How do I get there?
Our venue is Black Forest by Wedgewood! It's located at 12375 Black Forest Rd. Colorado Springs, CO 80908. If you are staying in Colorado Springs, the two main North/South bound highways are the I-25 and Powers Blvd. Go North on either highway and exit on Woodmen Rd. Go East on Woodmen Rd., then turn left onto Black Forest Rd. You will drive North along Black Forest Rd for approximately 5 miles. The venue is to your right. If you hit Shoup Rd. you have gone too far!
What is the dress code?
Dress code is semi-formal. Our main wedding colors are burgundy and charcoal gray. If possible please refrain from wearing these colors unless it is something that has been discussed with the bride and groom. It probably goes without saying, but please do not wear white.
What time should I arrive at the venue before the ceremony?
Ceremony starts promptly at 4pm. Please do not arrive earlier than 3:15pm and please arrive no later than 3:45pm to get settled into your seats.
Can I bring a date?
If it has been discussed prior with the bride and groom and/or you have received a "Plus One" on your invitation you may bring a date. If neither of these things apply to you, please refrain from bringing a date.
What will the weather be like?
The weather in Colorado can always vary. We highly recommend checking the weather before packing for your trip as well as before you make your way to the venue on wedding day! Keep in mind that it will be in late November, so chances are it will be cold (possibly snowing). Layers are your best friend!
Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?
If weather permits, the ceremony will be outdoors. However, if we find that the weather is poor the morning of, we do have an alternate ceremony area that will be indoors. The reception will be indoors regardless of the weather.
What should I do if I can't make it?
If you find out that you are unable to attend, your presence will be missed, but please RVSP "No" on our wedding website!
When is the RSVP deadline?
10/21/2022. If we do not hear from you by this date, we will assume you are declining your invitation. If you have RSVP'd "No" or you did not respond by the deadline, and decide at the last minute to come, please bring a chair and a sandwich. :)
Is there a hotel block? Where do you recommend I stay?
The bride and groom have elected not to do hotel blocks. If you need ideas on where to stay, please visit the section of the website titled "Closets Lodging Suggestions".
What kind of food and drink will be at the reception? What if I have food allergies?
The bride follows a gluten free diet, so there will be GF options! If you have allergies other than this please make a note with your RSVP.
Where are you registered?
If you would like to gift something to the bride and groom, there are a few options for gifts. Please see the "Registry" tab for more details.
Can I take and post photos on social media?
We are having an unplugged ceremony. So please refrain from taking photos and/or videos during the ceremony! There is a hired photographer that will make sure to get all the important moments!
As for posting on social media, please do not post any photos/videos that are taken during the reception before the bride and groom get the chance to post theirs! Once a week has passed, feel free to post any photos you took during the reception!
