The synagogue at 6th and I Streets was built in 1908. Later it was sold to a Christian church and eventually slated to be turned into a night club, before it was saved and rededicated as a working synagogue. Since 2004, this historic synagogue in downtown Washington, DC has housed impactful, entertaining, and thought-provoking programs open to the entire community. Included in its various programs is the Adult B'nai Mitzvah class, where Travis studied for his Bar Mitzvah. Sixth and I is a non-membership organization, which relies on donors' support.
