It all began with a Christmas miracle. On Christmas Day 2023, we matched online, and Travis sent the first message: "Merry Christmas!" From that simple greeting, a beautiful journey started.

Lori’s first impression of Travis was that he seemed like a manly man, but as they talked, she saw his sweet side emerge. Travis, on the other hand, was immediately struck by how genuine and kind Lori was, and the first time he heard her voice, he was completely melted. The moment he laid eyes on her, he knew he was head over heels.

Lori realized Travis was "the one" over dinner in Norton, KS, when he told her how glad he was that he hadn’t taken a well-paying job—because if he had, they never would have met. For Travis, the connection was instant. From the first time they met, he felt an undeniable spark between them.

For months, we took turns making the four-hour drive to see each other, and with every visit, our bond grew stronger. A memorable trip to Estes Park with Lori’s kids made it clear to both of us that this love was something extraordinary. Soon after, we began talking about spending our lives together.

On October 4, 2024, Travis couldn't wait any longer. He hopped in the car, drove to surprise Lori, and called her from the driveway. Not believing he was really there, she came outside to check—and there he was, ready with the biggest surprise of all. He got down on one knee and asked Lori to marry him. Of course, she said yes!
