Treigh & Beth

Wake Forest, NC

I've never been one that is good with words, but I'll do my best to give you some insight to OUR story. We started texting back and forth on January 25, 2022 after being introduced to each other by Kate Ashmore (my best friend) and Josh Ashmore (Treigh's best friend) - who just happen to be married. Treigh and Josh are both paramedics and they were working together on Ocracoke Island at the time.

Treigh and I talked every day through text messages/phone calls (because we lived over an hour away from each other) and finally decided to meet in person on March 20, 2022. Our first date was nice - we went to Sullivan's Steakhouse in downtown Raleigh. We were both very nervous considering we're both introverts and neither of us like large crowds or getting dressed up. We shared lots of laughs, but the funniest moment from our first date was Treigh giving me a fist bump at the end of the date when we got back to my car - he was just a little bit nervous.

If there is one thing I can say about Treigh, it's that he has always been able to make me laugh - there are always dad jokes and endless memes. And while his ability to make me smile is wonderful, it's his love of family and friends that stole my heart.

You see...the past almost two years of our relationship have been anything but easy. We not only lived an hour apart and rarely saw each other in person due to our very different work schedules, but we've experienced the loss of some very important people in our lives during this time - Jameson (Kate and Josh's son), his Mamaw Hughes, his Mamaw Pat, my PawPaw, and most recently his sweet mama DeeDee. We have held each other and cried more times than I can count, but these moments have definitely brought us closer. We've had to put our faith in God during these difficult times and trust in His plan, even when we didn't understand.

His family has welcomed me with open arms from the very beginning. My family has loved him from the start and our church family just might like him more than me. LOL

Thank you to everyone who has supported and prayed for us over the past year. We ask that you continue to pray for us as we build our new life together.

The best is yet to come!
