Emma's Version:
Trevor and I met on a Christian dating app called Upward in 2021. I was home sick with Covid for 15 days and had plenty of time to get to know him. We texted all day long except for when we occasionally left each other on read. After a few weeks, he asked me to go on a breakfast date which is funny now because he says I am the worst morning person. He got to First Watch thirty minutes early to add our name to the waitlist. He wanted to make sure I did not have to wait and greeted me outside with orange roses. I stole his bacon at breakfast and learned more about electrical work than I could have ever imagined. After, he asked to keep hanging out but I panicked and gave him a side hug and left. I really liked him.
Later, I texted him and told him how much fun I had even though I was awkward and he was shocked that I wanted to go out again. Our second date was just hanging out all day doing errands together and that's when I knew this was really something special. Trevor is the person that I have always wanted to be with. I love doing life with him by my side.
We dated for the rest of 2021 and most of 2022. Things just kept getting better and better. I very quickly fell in love with him. We love going to the whitewater center, concerts, beach trips, and so much more.
During that time, Trevor let me teach him how to horseback ride. His willingness to try new things that are important to me is one of the many things I love about him.
On July 9, 2022 we took a trail ride with a photographer friend to an open field. That's where he asked me to marry him. I was so sure I wanted to marry him I did not even have to think about it. (I already had this venue booked)
The plan was always to have a traditional wedding at the Providence Cotton Mill on March 18th. As the horse farm business became busier we realized we were wasting so much time driving to the farm and back to our parent's houses, but not spending it with each other. We started the search for a home in Waxhaw near the farm and ended up finding the perfect home in downtown Waxhaw to rent that is nine minutes away. The lease had to start in October so after much prayer and discussion with family we decided to get married on October 1st, 2022 in Trevor's home church. It was a very sweet ceremony surrounded by our immediate families. We went to Epic Chophouse for dinner afterwards. We did a miniature honeymoon for the weekend to the Grandover Hotel then moved into our new home the following Monday.
I am very excited to have our vow renewal ceremony with our closest family and friends on March 18th and finally get the reception party we never had. We are ready to line dance the night away!
We have been learning so much through this new adventure of being married. I love coming home to my best friend. Trevor is the most supportive person I know. He is the most loving and caring husband. I know he will make an incredible dad one day. Trevor Jordan Sides is the man of my dreams and I can never thank God enough for letting me be his wife. We are beyond excited to see you all and cannot wait to celebrate our marriage with you!

Trevor's Version:
I first met Emma on Upward. It's a Christian dating app. I know it actually worked. We chatted on the app for a while and enjoyed talking to each other. After about a month, I asked Emma out on a date. I took her to First Watch. I didn't know that Emma was not a morning person but she did go to breakfast with me. She was wearing a blue dress, her hair was so red, and she looked so beautiful. I picked her up some orange roses which turned out to be her favorites. We sat down and I was very nervous and wouldn't stop talking. As we ordered our food, the waitress asked if I would like bacon as a side and of course I said yes. When she asked Emma she said "it's fine. I will just have some of his." I should have known at that point she was perfect for me. We both enjoyed our meal and got up to leave and while saying our goodbyes she gave me a side hug I won't forget.
During our time together, we have had lots of great memories. Anything from countless trips to the whitewater center to trips to Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia. We even had two trips to the beach, one for the Carolinas Country Music Festival and one to go horseback riding on the beach. One of my favorite moments together was while we were at the CCMF. I talked Emma into getting us matching American flag overalls. She looked so cute in the overalls rocking the most beautiful smile. We had a blast listening to some of our favorite artists. I love trying new things with Emma. We have been to many new restaurants. We both love great food so we try to go out and try new places often. She has roped me in to liking sushi and edamame, two things I have never tried before her.
I know that Emma truly loves me for me. I know this because I talked her in to going tent camping with me for my birthday which is not Emma's idea of fun. We went fishing, kayaking, and even cooked over the fire pit. We did leave the campsite one night to go watch a movie at the drive in theater. That was a great trip.
When I knew that marrying Emma was the right thing to do, I went and told my parents and asked her parents for her hand in marriage. I've never been more nervous in my life. It went great and everyone approved. So we went out and picked out a ring and I made a plan to pop the question. I made a whole weekend of things that Emma loves to do. The most important part was being around the horses. We rode out to the field and after we dismounted I got down on one knee and asked her to be my wife. She said yes! We made a bunch of calls telling everyone the great news. We finished the night off at our favorite restaurant, The Melting Pot. They had the table set with roses and chocolate covered strawberries when we got there.
Emma has been a hard worker ever since I met her. When she sets her mind to it, I believe she could do anything like her dream of running her own horse farm. I am so proud and supportive of her for taking the chance. It hasn't always been good but I know that she has a calling to do it. She has taught the little kids so much about horses and life. Some of the girls even say they want to grow up and be like Emma. She is such a great role model for them. She has made new friend through the farm and rekindled old friendships. Emma is a good Christian woman that is a true believer. She pushed me to be a better me. We joined a community group through our church that we both love being a part of. Emma and our friends help me through my journey with Christ. I am so thankful that God has brought Emma into my life.
Emma and I have had ups and downs through our relationship. I have to give a lot of credit to Emma for all she did. She has helped me overcome difficulties in more ways than she knows. I love that she has helped me grow in my faith. I love the support she has shown me throughout our relationship. I love Emma lots and I am lucky to call her my wife. We are so excited to spend the rest of our lives together and see what else God has planned for us.
