In December of 2021, Tricia and Scotty decided to give dating apps one more try. After texting and talking for almost a month they finally went on a date. Scotty quickly learned that Tricia won the heart of his fur baby Maui, and decided that this might work, inviting Tricia on another date, but this date would include his friends for a work meeting. While on their second date Scotty's friends was amused at how well she fit in with their sense of humor. (No one knew there was going to be so many forks at this dinner) In June of 2022 the two would decide to give a vacation a try. They drove to Biloxi, Mississippi and realized they really enjoyed each other's company.

After seeing how well Scotty accepted Tricia's grown kids and how well their dogs got along, they knew this was where they wanted to be in life.

In June of 2023, while Tricia was visiting her daughter in Alaska, Scotty secretly started planning his proposal. After she returned from Alaska, they went on a camping trip with many of their friends. After setting everything up, he drew the attention of everyone and proudly proposed.

Since then they have made many wonderful memories and excited for their next chapter.
