If you have extra time to spend, I encourage you to explore Whidbey. I (Tricia) grew up on this Island my whole life and if you take the time to explore it, you'll see and understand my view of what it meant to grow up in the beautiful state of Washington.

Checkout Oak Harbor (my hometown), Coupeville, Langley, Deception Pass Bridge, and even take the bridge to checkout Anacortes. Then of course, if it is truly your first time to Washington check out Seattle, go do some amazing hikes, see how beautiful the Olympic National Park is. If you were a Twilight fan you could drive all the way to Forks, but I can't promise that you'll find your sparkly vampire or smelly werewolf.
