Whoever said you can't find love in a club was clearly wrong because that's exactly how Jose and I met. It was Saint Patrick's Day 2019, and both of us were out celebrating with our friends. It was late—the last stop of the night—at an underground club in Philly. I decided to break away from my group for some solo dancing, letting the music carry me away, when Jose saw me. He joined me on the dance floor, and we danced until the lights came on and the city shut down.

We barely exchanged more than a few words that night, but there was an undeniable spark. Before we parted ways, we exchanged numbers and left the club buzzing with wonder and excitement. Not even an hour passed before I caved and texted him, unable to resist continuing the connection. Little did we know, that one text would lead to years of conversations, laughs, inside jokes, support, debates, triumphs, defeats, and—most importantly—love.

We talked every single day after that. It didn’t take long to discover that we had come to Philly from entirely different directions and lived over two hours apart. But something about our connection made the distance seem trivial. For the next six months, we alternated visiting each other every weekend, spending the week counting down the days until Friday finally arrived and we could be together again.

After only a few months, I knew I was falling for him, and weekends alone were no longer enough. Jose decided to move to Reading, and together, we started building a life, turning the house into a home filled with love, laughter, and the occasional burnt cooking experiment.

Our journey hasn’t been without its challenges. We’ve navigated career changes, survived a pandemic, and mourned the loss of a parent. But we’ve also shared so many incredible adventures: Jose’s first flight to Puerto Rico, memorable trips to Mexico, countless weekends at the Jersey Shore, Phillies games, learning to golf, baking (with mixed results), and more. Every moment, whether big or small, has been a step in the beautiful journey of us.

In May 2024, during a family trip to Cabo, Jose proposed. It was perfect—a mix of laughter, tears, and utter joy. Now, we’re excitedly planning the next chapter of our story, thrilled to celebrate the beginning of forever with all our friends and family in paradise. Who knew a random night at a Philly club would lead to a lifetime of love, laughter, and happily ever after?
