The first encounters involved Rae persistently calling the Starbucks that Iggy worked at to follow up on her application. Her persistence paid off, and she got hired as a barista. Most of her training shifts were at night, and Iggy was the main closing supervisor. Shortly after, they discovered their mutual love for music, and the rest is history.

So our first "unofficial" date was at In N Out after work... But, what happens when you take two music lovers who love a nice view and some time with nature? Our first "official" date was at Rocketship Park, eating Panda Express as we watched the sun set over the South Bay while listening to music together. Now, every February 10th, we have a tradition of listening to music at Rocketship Park while we have In N Out.

One late October night after watching game 3 of the World Series, Iggy asked Rae's parents "would it be cool with you guys if I put a ring on it?" Originally planning to propose on December 10th during their yearly date going to the Enchanted Forest of Light at Descanso Gardens, Iggy realized Rae might be expecting it by then. In order to make sure it was a surprise, Iggy decided to propose during the date they had already planned in Big Bear before the rest of the family arrived for the weekend getaway. As they walked at the Stanfield Marsh Boardwalk, Iggy set up his phone to take a picture (actually setting up to take a video). As he walked up to Rae, she asked him "you're gonna marry me one day, right?"

After Iggy stumbled through a few words, Rae noticed something was different. "Are you planning something?" she asked. "Yeah," he said as he got down on a knee, pulled out a ring, heart beating out of his chest.

"Will you marry me?"
