Tristan and Sydney met through a sweet setup by his cousin (Tyler Tongate), who happens to be married to Sydney's bestfriend (Alex Schies). When Tristan moved back from Arkansas, Tyler and Alex thought that Tristan and Sydney would be a perfect match -- and they were right. They first met casually, but there was an instant spark between them. Their connection really deepened when they started playing golf together. With Tristan being an Assistant Golf Professional and Sydney playing collegiate and professional golf; golf was something they instantly bonded on. It became their thing -- something that brought them closer together and let them spend time laughing, learning enjoying each others company, and getting to see their competitive sides of each other.In September, Tristan and Sydney decided to take a big step together and buy a house in Allen, Texas. Now they share it with their adorable cats, Angel, Penne, and Ziggy who make their home even more special.Then on February 15th, 2025 during a magical blizzard in Winter Park, Colorado, Tristan got down on one knee and proposed.Now Tristan and Sydney are planning forever together, that is filled with so much love, adventure, and everything in between.

Sydney is the older cousin but has always been the older sister to me. She has always been the phone call away, my best friend on vacations and the one to eat the dip with me at family holidays even though she did give me a black eye when we were little I still love her loud bubbly self.

I met Sydney back at UTA and we instantly hit it off. Within a couple months she became one of my best friends. When I found out Tristan was moving back to Texas, I told Sydney about him. From then on, once they met, the rest was history. Not many people get to have their best friend become their family. I’m so excited and happy for the both of them and beyond honored to celebrate this day with them.

Alex Schies

Hi everyone. I’m so honored to be a part of the wedding party for Sydney. I’ve known her since she was just 12 years old — back when she was simply Shane’s little sister. Over the years, I’ve watched her grow from a funny, wild, and fearless kid into the strong, beautiful woman she is today. She’s no longer just my sister-in-law — she’s truly become a friend, someone I admire deeply and love so much.

I'm Janane, bridesmaid to the smallest firecracker I know -- Sydney.
Sydney and I first crossed paths as junior golfers, when she played alongside me and my sister. Little did we know, that was just the beginning of what would become an unforgettable friendship. We went on to play college golf together, and over time, I got to know the stubborn, witty, fiercely loyal girl behind the swing. 
Through countless rounds of golf, endless laughs, and even a few heated debates, Sydney has become some I love and hold incredibly close to my heart. She's one of a kind & I can't wait to see the future she has with Tristan.

Hi! I’m Ava Paysse and I’ve had the joy of knowing Sydney since our junior golf days. We became even closer at UTA, where we were roommates our freshman year and shared so many great memories. Last year, she stood by my side as a bridesmaid at my wedding, and I’m so honored to return the favor for hers. I can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with her and Tristan!

Ava Paysse

My name is Hollie James, me and Syd have been friends (basically another older sister for me) since I was a freshman in high school and she was a senior (9 years!!). Even though I was an annoying 15 year old that knew nothing Syd took me under her wing and helped me through everything from golf to just life. Syd is literally an extended part of my family and I wouldn’t change that for the world, I am forever thankful that we met! I am so excited for this next chapter in her and Tristan’s life and I can’t wait to watch it unfold!!

Hi! I’m Megan. Sydney is really Squidy to me. She was my partner in crime while we played professional golf. If you want some laughs, just put the two of us in a cart together and bring your popcorn.

Sydney and I met playing junior golf, and ended up as college teammates and roommates for five years. Somewhere along the way, she basically became family. We’ve been through a lot together—good, bad, chaotic—and now I get to be by her side for one of the best parts. I couldn’t be more excited for her.

From strangers to Freshman year random roommates. Roommates to friends, to best friends to brothers. It's a wonder we didn't kill each other during our 4 year stint of living together but I couldn't have picked a better dude to become regulars at Herbets Taco Hut with.

Tristan is my younger cousin and Sydney is one of my fiancée’s best friends. When Tristan told me he was coming back to Texas, I told Alex I wanted to set them up. I told Tristan to trust me on this, so Alex and I set them up. I’m really happy for the future of Sydney and Tristan. 

Tyler Tongate

Met back in 2019 working as golf professionals at the Four Seasons. Tristan taught Joe how to be better at golf, while Joe taught Tristan how to relax and have some riz.

Friendship that started in 2018 when I took this young man under my wing teaching him the ways of being a PGA member. I feel like I had a part in this marriage as I was the one to bring Tristan back to Texas!

This 24 year old friendship is living proof that there is no greater bond than a trauma bond. Who would’ve thought that cracking someone’s skull would get you a life long friend? (Tristan is the one who had the skull cracking) 

Josh Houston

Tristan was the 2nd smallest kid in the dorm, so I felt the need to take him under my wing and protect him. He especially needed protection from his now Best Man, Blake Turner, who accidentally sent him to the hospital.

Kohner Morgan

I first met Tristan in 2016, when I moved into a 4 bedroom cottage, already filled with 3 complete strangers to me. Little did I know that would turn out to be one the best decisions I ever made in my life. Tristan welcomed me instantly and made me feel right at home. I never realized this goofy, strange, sometimes funny, and weirdly dependable person would quickly become one of my best friends. For almost a decade now, I’ve seen him grow into the man he is today. I’m excited to see this next chapter of life for him and Syd.

Hi everyone! I’m Joey, Tristan’s Brother-in-Law by marriage and friend by choice. I’m married to Tristan’s stepsister, Falan—we love traveling, hanging out with our pets, and spending time with family whenever we can. I work as a photographer for a university, which also happens to be my biggest hobby. Some of my favorite photos are of Tristan and Sydney at the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center. Fun fact: I’m older than Tristan by just two days (and I never let him forget it). I’m so excited to celebrate their big day and see what’s ahead for them!
