Lazarus and Tristana’s Story

Picture of Lazarus and Tristana’s Story

On May 28th, 2024, Laz and Tristana were set up by Laz’s best man, Moses, and Tristana’s bridesmaid, Emily. They were paired as partners on the golf course—and that’s when it all started. By hole 7 out of 9, they knew they liked each other. Although Laz loves golf and is a competitive golfer (Tristana could use a little work on the course), it had turned into a date.

The next day, Laz asked her to go skating with him in the morning with his dad, Butch—a total pickup line—and they skated together that morning. Things started getting more serious, so Laz decided to ask Tristana on a real date. They grabbed lunch and played pickleball with Tristana’s maid of honor, Peyton, and her boyfriend, Dewey. By the end of the day, it was clear they were going to date.

Laz and Tristana wanted to be intentional with their relationship, so they had the hard conversations early and met each other’s families right off the bat. They both agreed—and knew—they wanted to do their relationship God’s way and keep Jesus at the center of it all.

On June 24th, 2024, they officially started dating after Laz took her to a nice restaurant in Minneapolis. Long distance lay ahead of them, as Laz was at Liberty and Tristana was at Mercyhurst—seven and a half hours apart. But the distance didn’t stop them from pursuing each other; every other weekend, they met in the middle on a Sunday just to spend time together.

After many prayers, it became very clear to both of them that they were each other’s person for life. They knew the next step was engagement and marriage.

They got engaged in Italy on January 18th, 2025, with the most scenic view. It was romantic and perfect! They are now so excited to get married on June 26th, 2025, and start their beautiful life together. They love Jesus and thank the Lord every day for bringing them together.
