Our Story

Although we had a few classes together before meeting, I had never spoken very many words to IV. Everything changed on November 6th, 2018 when we were accidentally introduced. A mutual friend of ours (Katie Peters-Bridesmaid) had planned to eat dinner with IV a few weeks before this date. Katie and I were best friends and at this point in our senior year of High School were hanging out daily. November 7th was a teacher work day so Katie and I had planned to eat dinner and stay out late. When I got to Katie's house, Katie broke the news that she had planned dinner with IV and he would be there any minute. At this point in senior year, I was trying to soak up every minute left with my friends and meeting new people so I agreed to go. IV pulled up in his Boss 302 and I jumped in the back. At this point, he had no idea I was coming. That night we went to dinner at Barberitos and road the Mustang up and down Main Street. Iv was sick so he didn't speak much. I thought maybe he was just shy. After hanging out a few more times with Katie and IV, there was a Friday night football game that Katie had to babysit and couldn't go. I had asked IV to drive me to the game after we all got dinner together. Before heading to the game, we stopped and got a coffee from The Blend because it was a cold night. This was the first time we had spent time alone just the two of us. We began talking and as we made it to Wheatmore the conversation continued. That night we sat in the car and talked, never making it to the game. We both developed a deep friendship after that night.

As time progressed we began to hang out more and more to the point we were with each other every day. We even spent Christmas night watching the movie Rampage at his house and Melissa had made me my favorite dinner at the time (spinach triangles from Costco). By January, we both knew we had feelings for each other and would talk to Katie about it but never to one another. We made Katie our middle man and her being the true friend she is never spilled the beans to the other person. Toward the end of January, I finally looked at Katie and told her that if IV had feelings for me I wanted him to tell me.

January 23rd, 2019 I went to Iv's house to help him work on a new piece that he got for the Boss. After we finished working on the car we went inside and IV said "I have something to tell you". He eventually said that he had feelings for me and I told him I had feelings for him too. Since we were already friends I told him that there was no point in "talking" (courting for a translation for those born before 2000) and that we were officially dating now.

From there, we have shared many moments leading up to this point. We both went to separate schools. I attended UNC Greensboro and he moved to UNC Chapel Hill. We have gone on many beach trips, mountain trips, and a few cruises. We have grown in our faith and were baptized together on December 3rd, 2023. We have both started jobs and grown up together. April 25th, 2025 is our next adventure to spending a lifetime together and continuing to grow in love and be together as "one" for the challenges and successes of the life we will create.
