Our Wedding

We met while Leon was a coach for the local youth football team. My son played for a younger age group of the organization he coached for. From what he told me, the first time he saw me at practice, he said to his friend, "I'm going to marry her." One day, while at practice, he walked over to me and said," Do you have a boyfriend?" I answered, "No." and without another word he walked away. I thought to myself, "Ok that was weird, maybe he thought he knew me." I shrugged it off. A few days later, he sent me a message on Facebook wanting to take me out. My hilarious response was, " I do not mix business (the football organization my son played for and he coach with) with pleasure (dating)." LOL! He said he understood and that was the end. On November 7th, (the last football game of the season) I messaged him around 9:30 p.m. letting him know that the season was officially over and that we could get to know each other better ONLY if he agreed to take me on 10 EXOTIC DATES (not the average dinner and a movie date)! He agreed and we exchanged numbers. We talked from sunrise to sunset about EVERYTHING! He became my best friend. The first date was to Snowflex on Liberty Mountain. Somewhere among our multiple and continuous conversations, I neglected to tell him that I was deathly afraid of heights. LOL sooooo umm yeah, I had a panic attack on our first date. We have come a long way from our first date. Too many perfect memories to count but since our first date, we have started a business together, bought a timeshare, rode a helicopter, been to an NBA and NFL game, rode rollercoasters, fought off zombies, held alligators, ran from raccoons, and so much more (all firsts for us). And that is just the beginning of our journey together. THE PROPOSAL We went to Orlando, FL for vacation together March 2017. There were so many opportunities in Florida when I thought he would propose. So many opportunities that I thought were the "perfect" opportunities. But he didn't so I figured, it will happen when God wants it to happen. When we made it back home safely, I told him I was hungry and he said he was going to take me out to eat. GREAT! While eating we began talking about being proposed to in front of family. I told him, "I think social media intimidates men and makes it seems like proposals have to be a lavish thing. I would prefer if it were just you and I." He just looked and smiled. We ate and left. When we got home I noticed both of our mother's cars in the parking lot. Didn't think much about it because we had gifts for them and I figured they were there to collect. Well to my surprise, it was more than just our mothers. My sisters and his best friends were there too. We walked in and they said congratulations. I looked confused but figured they were talking about how well our business had taken off (hence the Honest Illuzions Balloons). We sat around talking and laughing. The men went outside and I sat with the ladies. When they finally came back in, he walked up to me and said, "You know I love you right?" I replied, "I love you more (our usual response to each other)." He said, "Will you marry me?" I smiled and said, "Stop playing boy!" LOL He then got down on one knee and pulled out the ring box....... QUE THE WATERWORKS And here we are today, planning our wedding.
