The story begins in Madison, WI, the time; December 2021, the place; a martial arts dojo. The connection was not instant, but slowly through things like the practice of trying to punch each other in the face and gifts of cosmic brownies, Chandler and Tyler slowly grew closer. According to Chandler the goal at the time was to just get Tyler to talk to her, to make a friend. It can be said now that the goal was achieved and then some.

Come early May 2022 and a rank test at the martial arts studio was being held where the only participants were the pair. Originally it was only to be Chandler, but Tyler might have put in some extra classes in order to be eligible. He could of been overheard saying "Well I couldn't just let her test by herself". Tyler had suggested a celebratory meal after the test at Shortstack restaurant, which was a tradition at the dojo. There might have been a side agenda of getting to spend some time with Chandler. The two had a great time, and things began to move quickly.

Two weeks later and pudgie pies were shared by a campfire and a kiss amongst the flowers of the arboretum. A year later, and with a new doctorate degree in tow, the happy couple were moving together to Minnesota on new adventures. Seven months after that and they took on an even bigger trip with a move across the country to North Carolina chasing careers and with the desire to build a future together.

It was shortly after that, in a small wood cabin near the Virginia border, on a chilly January night after a beautiful day of hiking at Hanging Rock, that marriage was proposed. You can probably guess that it went well, and now two and a half years after that initial celebration dinner at Shortstack, Chandler and Tyler are excited to exchange vows and commitments with all of you, our closest friends and family, there to witness it.
