Our journey began thanks to a little matchmaking magic from Tyler's coworker, who also happens to be Mackenzie’s cousin. After some casual texting (and a few missed replies from Mackenzie!), we finally set a date to meet at Devil’s Lake, joined by Mackenzie’s dog, who was not only the best four-legged third wheel but who also treated us to a symphony of… not-so-pleasant scents in the car.

On that first date, we both proudly claimed to be outdoorsy types, each trying to impress the other. But as soon as we started hiking, we quickly realized we’d both overestimated ourselves. Out of breath and pretending to be unfazed, we laughed it off and finished the trail.

After a few more memorable dates, Tyler took Mackenzie downtown Madison, where he officially asked her to be his girlfriend, and our love story truly began. Over the next three and a half years, we moved in together, navigated life’s adventures, and made countless memories.

Then, during a relaxing Christmas getaway to Port Aransas, Texas, Tyler surprised Mackenzie with the best gift of all—a proposal, right by the waves on the beach. And here we are, so excited to be sharing our next adventure together with all of you.
