The first time we met was at a Harding meet and greet. It wasn't until the next summer we really became friends and got to know each other. I attended a church camp, put on by David's church, with three of my childhood best friends. We had the time of our lives this week! After camp, a group of eight of us hung out almost every night the rest of that summer. This group is one of my favorite groups I've been apart of, and now it's even more special.
When freshman year rolled around, David and I hung out a couple of times because we were both education majors, but I ended up dating another guy for a little while. When that ended, David and I began hanging out again.
That summer rolled around, and about halfway through David, and I had been talking almost every day. We really enjoyed each other's company, but I didn't want to get my hopes up, so I continued to convince myself that we were just friends. David came up to my family's fireworks tent to hang out, but it wasn't until David came to the campground where my family and another family were, that I clued into David liking me. He stayed when I was sick in the camper and could not hangout, and that it when I really put pieces together
We continued hanging out the rest of the summer and grew to enjoy each other more and more. That was just the beginning of our story.
As I sit and write this, I think of all the details that have to lead us to this part in our story, the elements that haven't been included, the features that will be stories we share for years to come and continue to build on.
