We met through a mutual friend—funny enough, I had told him (who also happened to be Tyler’s best friend) that I thought Tyler was cute. What I didn’t know was that Tyler had texted me that same day, and we started talking casually as friends.

Our first date was actually a double date! We went to the movies and did a little shopping afterward—it was such a fun day, and we loved getting to know each other more. Then, on May 6, 2019, Tyler officially asked me to be his girlfriend. We were only 13 and 14 years old at the time, and neither of us imagined what this relationship would become. But here we are—getting married! The picture above is our very first photo as a couple, taken at Tyler’s freshman year spring football game on May 14, 2019.

These were our one-year photos! We were both so surprised (and proud) that we’d made it a whole year at such a young age. We were giddy and excited—such a special time in our relationship.

We had so much fun just being together—getting to know each other's friends and growing not only as boyfriend and girlfriend, but truly as a couple. That year, we grew up a lot and made so many sweet memories together, including one of our favorites—our very first proms! The photo above was taken that night!

Just a week or two after prom, we celebrated our two-year anniversary—which felt HUGE for us, especially being so young. We had no idea that those two teenagers, just enjoying each other’s company and soaking up every moment, would one day be getting married. But here we are!

This was Tyler’s senior night—his last year of school. It was such a wild and emotional year for us. We were so used to always being together, and now we were soaking in all of our “lasts” together. Bittersweet, but so, so special.

This was Tyler’s signing day! It was so special watching him commit to playing the sport he loves. Even better, he’d be close to home—so I still got to cheer him on in person!

Our 3 years! Such a special and bittersweet time—just a few days later, Tyler would graduate, and it would be our last summer together before a year of long-distance.

Tyler graduated! We were all so proud of him and everything he accomplished—and so thankful for all that we had accomplished together too!

Tyler’s move-in day at TMU! We were so excited for him to chase his dreams as a dual-sport collegiate athlete, but also a little nervous about what long-distance would mean for our relationship.

My senior year in high school, we tried to see each other as much as we could while being far from each other. Tyler never missed a single one of my events. He was, and still is, my biggest fan.

4 years together! We made it through Tyler’s first year of college, and before we knew it, it was almost my turn to graduate!

I graduated! We were so excited to be back together for the summer, and soon it would be my turn to head to TMU!

We both moved to TMU and were having the best time! It was our sophomore year together, and I had just found out I’d be graduating a year early!

We both got accepted into the education program! We were (and still are) so excited to pursue our calling to become teachers together!

5 years together! We were so happy celebrating this milestone. We had just finished our sophomore year and were heading into a new season of long-distance, with Tyler moving to Arizona for 3 months. As hard as it was, we truly believe the time apart brought us even closer together.

This was such a fun summer. We traveled so much. This is where we learned that our biggest life goal is to travel the world together. We can't wait to see how many more memories and adventures are ahead for us.

6 years together! We had just finished our first year in the program, and we were so happy knowing it was one step closer to building our future together!

Tyler proposed! It was the most special moment—we fell in love all over again and now we can’t wait to get married!
