A sweet coastal town about 3 hours from Wasilla, this is a place Jayce grew up going to. Seward has plenty of local shops, fishing/sightseeing charters you can book, and some of the best seafood. Go explore the Sealife Center, have lunch at the Highliner, and finish off with Gelato from Sweet Darlings to recreate Tyler's first time there!

Hop on the M/V Bravest, a vessel that once saved victims of the infamous flight that crashed in the Hudson River in NY, now converted to a Glacier and Wildlife Charter out of Whitter, AK. Whittier used to be an old WWII port only accessible by an under-mountain road and now operates as a unique tourist town. This charter is an all-day affair with a meal service and killer views.

Day in Palmer

Spend a day exploring Jayce's hometown, a sweet hallmark-esque place tucked between two of the most incredible mountains you've seen. Her perfect day is beginning at Vagabond Blues for a coffee and perusing the many downtown shops. Then lunch at the Palmer Alehouse, a cookie from the Baddest Batch, and a stop for Kombucha at 203. Finish off the day by heading to Matanuska Brewing, and make sure to grab a growler on your way out.

Note: Alaska is known for its markets, festivals, and events during the summer. A quick Google search will have you living like a local in no time!

Hike the Butte

No stress about trying to climb the highest peaks while in AK, the Butte is a relatively easy out-and-back hike for the whole family. It takes about 2 hours to complete but has the most stunning views of Pioneer Peak from the top. Look out over the town, bring a picnic, and head back down when you're ready. There are two sides to this hike, referred to as "the stair side" and "the steep side," be aware of difficultly levels when picking which route you want to embark on!

Reindeer Farm

The Reindeer Farm is a must-go when visiting Palmer. Stop in and pet, feed, and play with homegrown reindeer. Visit elk, highland cows, moose, llamas, and Kodi, the farm dog might even ask you to play fetch. This locally owned and operated farm is one big play ground, with yard games, things to climb on, and more, go be a kid again!
