458 Days To Go!

Hello everyone!

First, we want to thank you all so much for being here and for showing us such incredible love and generosity. It truly means the world to us.

Our story actually starts long before we ever really talked. Growing up my grandparents lived right behind Tyler’s parents’ house, so I always knew who he was. I just thought of him as the neighbor with the cute dog. Later on in junior high, we both played basketball at East High School on Sundays. I’d see him around, but we never really connected but I did add him on Snapchat around that time.

Fast forward to June 2021, right before our senior year of high school. I started snapping Tyler more often—mainly because I knew he had a boat (which I love) and yes, still the cute dog. I figured we could just be friends and hang out over the summer. A couple weeks later, after he got home from basketball league, I asked what he was doing that night. He gave me a pretty boring answer—something like, “not much.” Then he turned the question back on me and I said, "Hanging out with you."

After driving around the Hubbard Lake and talking for a couple hours I hurried and texted all my friends saying that I'm going to marry this boy.

And from that night on… everything changed, and here we are today!

Below you will see our first picture together at East High School!

The Proposal

A lot of people have been asking how Tyler proposed, so here it is!

It was Sunday, August 3rd and it was a rainy day. Earlier that week on Monday, Tyler had asked if I wanted to take our dogs (Stormi and Teddy) out to the river. Stormi had never been on the boat or to the river before, so of course I said yes!

Sunday morning rolled around, and Tyler made us breakfast before he started getting everything ready - hooking up the boat, getting gas, all the usual stuff. Meanwhile, I was packing up the cooler like I would for any normal boating day. Then, I got a text from Tyler saying, “If you don’t want to go on the river today, it’s okay, it’s raining.”

As soon as I read that, I knew he wasn’t going to propose. He wouldn't have been so calm, and this man cannot keep a secret. After being together for over four years, I knew a proposal was coming soon, but I figured it definitely wasn’t happening that day. I still wanted to take the dogs out, so I threw on a sweatshirt and some sweatpants and we went boating!

Of course, when we got to the boat ramp and tried to start the boat… it didn’t. The battery was dead. Classic. So, we had to head back, charge the battery, and wait. Finally, around 1:00 PM, we were able to get out on the water. Once we were out, Tyler suggested we stop at a sandbar so Stormi could run around and try swimming for the first time. We pulled up, let the dogs out, and I started recording Stormi’s big moment.

As I turned around from recording, I saw Tyler standing there, holding what looked like a Zyn can. Then he pulled out something shiny, which definitely wasn't a Zyn, and he started getting down on one knee…

I said yes, and here we are today!
