Tyler and I met at Chick-fil-a back in 2020 when my family moved to Brookhaven, PA. I became friends with his siblings first and then I started to get to know Tyler. Most girls say this but I truly did not like him at first, haha. I thought he seemed rude and he never talked to me openly like his siblings did. Little did I know it was because he was so nervous around me and he had developed a little crush on me. I remember one of the first times we interacted, he was trying to bag food for a DoorDash order and he kept getting the sticker stuck on his gloves. I offered to help him and he brushed me off rejecting the help I had offered. After that I vowed to never speak to him again and here we are four years later.
Fast forward a couple of weeks we began to develop a friendship and I started to look forward to going to my work shifts just to see Tyler. And then one night at work I got hit with a metal refrigerator door and got a concussion. I do not remember much but Tyler took care of me for the next hour and got our manager at the time to contact my mom to take me to the hospital. This was Tyler's moment to shine and he sure did, haha. A few days later he got my number from our work contact list and reached out to me to see how I was doing with recovery. We began to talk every single day, then face-time, then plan hang out times, then we met each others parents, and then three months later on June 8th, 2021 he asked me to be his girlfriend.
AND THE REST IS HISTORY!
In 2020, my dad faced an unexpected challenge when he was let go from his job. Around the same time, Kaylee's family was in the midst of a big transition. Her mom was hoping to get a job at Cairn University, and her dad needed a new job as they prepared to move from Virginia to Pennsylvania. In an unexpected twist, Kaylee's dad ended up taking the very position my dad had recently been let go from. God had a plan! Kaylee had applied to the recently opened Brookhaven Chick-fil-A but never heard back from them, so she applied to the Media location where she got the job. God had a plan! As my fiancée mentioned, we met their and got off to a great start with a concussion and mostly talking through text for the first few weeks. Our story from June 8th, 2021 to late October 2022 was for the most part, smooth. From November 2022 until late June 2024 was extremely challenging for each of us individually and together as a couple. A large stretch of those months were spent fighting the depths of anxiety and depression. Our relationship was put to a real and serious test that we had not expected. However, we both trusted in the Lord as best as we could and relied on Him to carry us through those long trials. We have since been able to learn from those months of heartache and pain to become individuals who understand ourselves better. As well as getting to know each other far deeper than we could've imagined. Kaylee and I have loved each other, hurt with each other, gone through our highest highs, and the lowest of lows. And it is by the grace of God and His ultimate love for us that we are able to get married and share our wonderful day with those who supported us through the past 3 and 1/2 years.
