Chandler admits to knowing of Tyler during college (that really good Iowa volleyball player)... but they never formally met until one summer weekend in May of 2020, when Bob, Smo &amp; Chandler went down to Iowa for a grass triples tournament. They quickly matched up against (and lost to) Tyler's team. Bragging rights that Tyler still holds strong. That very next weekend, Bob and Smo were looking for a third for a tournament Chandler was hosting in Oconomowoc. Chandler told them to ask Tyler if he would be interested in playing, as he was coaching at Marian University in Fon Du Lac and would be great to get in their friend group. Tyler accepted, they won, and Tyler was in the friend group. The summer of 2020 passed with occasional pickup volleyball sessions and weekends together, but never on the same team. Chandler went on to play in Denmark while Tyler began his 2nd year at Marian, now with his little brother, Derek, on the roster.

how we first met... kinda

A whole year later, Chandler finally got Tyler to join him for 'The Battle at the Five O's' tournament in Oconomowoc. Tyler accepted and they spent the whole weekend together golfing at "The Club at Lac Labelle" and hanging at the lake. Although they didn't win the tournament, the chemistry was there and the two became a team on the court and off... playing most tournaments together on the back-half of 2021 and eventually becoming roommates in Neenah, WI.

throughout some of 2021 &amp; all of 2022, Tyler and Chandler lived together in Neenah at Smo's house... (although, at the start, there were jokes they were just 1/16th roommates with how much they were all traveling). At Smo's there were many days of bike rides, walking to Pick &amp; Save, hanging at the nearby park. There were many nights of cooking &amp; hosting for whatever game was on TV, hanging with Rachel, Bob, and Lacy (Tito's best friend). And there were many MANY volleyball tournaments. If you ask Tyler, he might just tell you they played every weekend during that stretch. But the tournaments became more than just socializing with their best friends, Tyler and Chandler quickly had the chance to travel to compete against the nation's best - putting their skills &amp; relationship on the line out on the grass.

no longer 1/16th roommates

In January 2023, Tyler and Chandler got to celebrate home ownership, moving closer to family in Oconomowoc &amp; finally giving them their own space - something Tyler was super patient for :) The new home came with perks - a brand new kitchen, enough space for Tito to be Tito, and, of course, a lawn big enough for grass volleyball court. But also came with downsides - parents no longer housing our crap or hosting our parties (at the lake). Well, the parties continued anyways, always with good cooking (wayyy better food than the rabbit food Chandler typically eats), and sometimes even with a magician too. They are excited to have space to host things like Thanksgiving, bake hundreds of Christmas cookies, and be just a stones throw away from Chandler's toddler nephew Isaac.

First, we are so excited to celebrate with all of you. You all mean so much to us, our growth, and who we are today. Every time we pour into our social life or family, it seems we get TEN times in return - it is because of you all in support of us, our goals, and our relationship we've been able to get to the big day and able to live such blessed lives. We are so excited to get married &amp; hope to someday have a large family of our own, teaching "bumpers" to our own kiddos &amp; pushing them to be their best. We forever see volleyball as a part of our life and don't want to hang em up until we have to and dream of someday being able to play volleyball with our kids, in whatever way they are open to.We want to use what we've learned so far in volleyball and in life to continue to grow as people.. grow together.. become unbreakable, unshakeable. We want to become more grateful, slow down to appreciate the little things more. Take work less seriously (sorry Jake). Invest further into a family of our own. We want to continue to build fond memories with you all - at this party and many parties to come. Dreaming on, with love.- Tyler &amp; Chandler
