The day was May 14, 2016 and our families and friends were in Atlanta, Georgia for our graduation from Mercer University. Tymeco was graduating with a Master's in accounting and a Master's in Business Administration. I was graduating with a Bachelor's in nursing. The day prior just happened to be Ty's 25th birthday, our 4 year dating anniversary, and my pinning ceremony for school. What a HUGE weekend it was for the both of us. Little did I know, it was about to get a whole lot bigger. Ty and I both walked across the stage and planned to meet our families in the field behind the seating area to take pictures. First, we took pictures in our cap and gowns with everyone and then Ty asked me to take pictures with just him. A few pictures later, Ty said that he wanted us to take pictures without our cap and gowns. I didn't think anything of it at the time because it was a major achievement in both of our lives and Ty knows I love, love, love me some pictures! It took me like ten minutes to get my cap off because well, bobby pins. . . and then we posed for pictures. When I looked up to smile, literally all of our family members had their phones out at the same time. I wasn't very suspicious because everyone had been taking pictures of us that afternoon. Suddenly, Ty grabbed both of my hands and started to tell me how much I meant to him. He expressed to me that "everything he had done the past four years, he did it for us" and that he "loved me so much and he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me", but the rest was all a blur because of sheer excitement. Next thing I knew, Ty reached into his pocket and pulled out a big square, silver box and said "Avery Jane Winchester, will you marry me?", which are words that I have been waiting to hear since the day I knew he was the one for me. The weekend prior Ty led me to believe that this much anticipated moment would not be happening for some time in order to throw me off. I was very surprised. I absolutely couldn't wait to say yes so much that I took the ring out of the box, put it on, and made him get up so I could hug and kiss him! It was the perfect moment because both of our families & all of our friends were able to share these life changing moments and cheered us on through the entire thing. We got to spend the weekend celebrating so many things and it truly could not have been anymore perfect.
