Your presence adds so much to our celebration, and we're delighted to have you there. Regrettably, venue limitations mean we've had to make decisions on plus one invitations based on space. If a plus one invitation hasn't been extended to you, please understand that this decision is solely due to logistical constraints. Your understanding is truly valued, and we eagerly anticipate celebrating with you!
What is a shendi ?
A shendi refers to the amalgamation of two wedding events, combining both the mehndi and shaadi functions into a single celebration. While each family may interpret this occasion in their own unique way, it typically involves elements like dancing, singing, traditional ceremonies like the dhood palai, and a variety of delectable foods. The day is often characterized by vibrant colours and is filled with joyous festivities.
Is there a coat check provided at the wedding?
Absolutely, coat check is available for all of the events, and we highly recommend guests take advantage of it. This not only enhances the ambiance but enables everyone to fully savour the festivities without the hassle of handling their coats.
Are children invited to the wedding ?
With warmth and understanding, we kindly request that our wedding be an adults-only affair. While we absolutely love children, we've opted for an atmosphere geared towards adults, unless a special invitation has been extended specifically for them. Your understanding and cooperation mean a lot to us.
What are the timings of the event ?
Please refer to your invitations for confirmation of the event timings (can be found on the home page). We recommend arriving a bit earlier to ensure ample time for parking and to get comfortably settled. Kindly adhere to the scheduled start time, as we will not be delaying. Brown standard timings will not be accommodated, so your punctual attendance is valued. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. XO!
Are there any cultural rituals or customs I should be aware of during the wedding events?
Upon entering the mosque for the Nikkah ceremony, all attendees are kindly requested to remove their shoes. Additionally, female guests are requested to cover their hair and shoulders with a scarf. As the mosque is a sacred place of worship, we appreciate and encourage respectful behaviour from all attendees.
Monetary Gifts
Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift. If you choose to give a monetary gift, a designated box will be available at the venue. We sincerely appreciate your generosity.
