It all began back in 2000 at Hawfields Middle School, where we were part of the very first 8th-grade class when the school opened its doors. We ran in the same friend circle, sharing laughs, classes, and countless middle school memories. What Lavar didn’t know back then was that Unica had the biggest crush on him a secret that was well-known among her girlfriends, even if she never let it slip to him.

As life went on, we attended two rival high schools but remained friends through it all. Years passed, and one day, fate (and Instagram) stepped in. Lavar sent Unica a message asking if she wanted to hang out and just like that, the spark that had been quietly waiting all those years finally ignited.

Eight years later, after a lifetime of friendship and love, we’ve built a beautiful life together. On January 1, 2025, Lavar proposed, marking the start of the next chapter in our story. A few months later, we welcomed our greatest joy, our baby girl Charlotte Grace Marsh, on August 7, 2025.

When asked what they love most about each other, Lavar says it’s the kindness of Unica’s heart, and Unica says it’s his patience and his smile.

Now, as we prepare to celebrate our marriage, our wedding weekend theme 'Marsh Madness' perfectly reflects our shared love for basketball and the exciting, joyful energy that’s always surrounded our relationship.

A lifetime of friendship, a love that stood the test of time, and now, a family of our own. We can’t wait to celebrate this next adventure surrounded by all the people who’ve cheered us on from the very beginning.
