How we met
Yanga has been my church member but we don't talk to each other. I saw the flyer for uyoprayerwalk and I was interested in it.
Since I couldn't go to the protests, I knew the best place to protest was in the place of prayer, I saw him repost that same flyer on his status. I sent him a message asking if he'll attend the prayer walk, he said he will.
On the day of the uyoprayerwalk, we stood together praying, walked through together praying. After the event ended, on getting home we got chatting more. This is someone we barely see eye to eye, in the long run, we realized we had a lot in common in different ways.
Firstly, My birth date is 9th November and he is 8th November
Yanga spent time listening to my tough pages, saw me cry, and inspired me
Frankly, he wasn't what I expected but he is what I prayed for, he is the husband I imagined. After that Uyoprayerwalk something exceptional happened, my spiritual life advanced more, my thoughts for the things of God and church elevated
I became more committed and more established.
When a man loves the Lord he'll know how to love you more
I wasn't emotionally attached to him immediately, we spent few months going out as friends, talking about our past mistakes, and not judging each other
As friends, we did put our cards on the table and we are getting married ten months after we started talking to each other.
I'll put it this way, the love we have for the things of God, gave us a chance to fall in love and the more we love the Lord together, the more we fall in love with each other.
Our love life is sustained through our love for the things of God.
I see our union as the will of God
And I willingly accept to be a vessel to fulfill God's word.
I've known Psychic as a Sister in Church. It was not until last year, during the #EndSARs #UyoPrayerWalk, that everything changed.
We met during the Prayerwalk as an acquaintance. She saw my post about the Prayerwalk on my WhatsApp status, so she chatted me up to inquire about it. I gave her directions, and she pulled up with me. We prayed and dance together the whole time we were there, it was fun to be around her.
When we got back home, the conversations became more intimate. We talked about our plans, desires, goals, personal growth, and our service to God. It was then, that I realized that we share so many similarities differently, like our birthdays.
We also had conversations circle around marriage, and her in-depth knowledge about it encourages me to push forward. I prayed about it, and before our birthdays last year November, I popped the question.
Since then, it has been a faith walk, from meeting our parents to the marriage rites and up till now. It has been the Holy Spirit guiding and directing our path.
I'm glad we met in the place of prayer.
