It all started because two people swiped right...

Our story started the way many relationships do nowadays, on an app. Hinge, the app designed to be deleted, is where our story began.

We started chatting on Hinge and found out that I actually worked with Dylan's sister, Kate. So, I had actually heard a few stories about Dylan before I even knew who he was.

After chatting for a few days after matching we were eager to meet up and go on a date, but little did we know one date that week would turn into three.

We couldn't get enough of each other, our third date that week was an all day affair. Dylan invited me to go play laser tag with his coworkers but kept adding on stuff to do. The morning started out with going to Avatar 2, then hanging out at his apartment playing a few video games, then laser tag and then dinner and back to his apartment for another movie. You would think that we would be sick of each other by then, but it was only the beginning.

Dylan asked me to officially be his girlfriend, which not many people do anymore, on December 30th, 2022. Ever since we have fallen more and more in love everyday.

One night, on Super Bowl Sunday, Dylan and I had gotten Chinese takeout and his fortune that he got said "Your next decision will deliver unexpected happiness." Of course I had to tease him about the next decision that he was going to make and I said that we should save the fortune. I placed it on his bedside table and soon forgot about it.

Fast forward to Valentine's Day 2024... I planned everything that day. I made reservations and planned our night, I was frustrated that Dylan hadn't planned anything and that he wasn't particularly talkative at dinner. But little did I know that he definitely had something special planned. He took me on a walk down the city deck and pulled out the fortune that I had forgotten about, he said "Remember this?" and then I immediately started crying, he barely got the words "Will you marry me?" out before he got up off his knee to check on me. I was so overwhelmed with emotions in that moment because I knew that I would be spending the rest of my life with my best friend.

Since then, Dylan has moved in to my house and we have been working to make it our home. Living together has been a wonderful journey and we are so excited for everything that is left to come!
