Our story

In 2018, Val was looking at a friend’s Snapchat story and saw a pretty good looking female featuring in it. Her name was Rachael.

He would then quiz his friend Mandi about Rachael’s relationship status and upon finding out that she was single, he decided he would give her an Instagram follow and see where things went.

Rachael would follow back but the hopeless Val would be too nervous to message until she took matters into her own hands one day, thinking that the pair would be at the same location that evening.

Naturally, Val had cancelled because he was tired.

But the tango had started, and five years later after Rachael withstanding his moods after a Richmond loss, purchasing a home, going away on trips and growing fairly fond of her, Val decided to pop the question.

The pair have been inseparable in their time together, growing closer day by day whether it be through some amazing holidays, including Europe, Port Douglas, Sydney, the Great Ocean Road, the Gold Coast, Mornington Peninsula Bright and many road trips to Phillip Island.

They have also enhanced their bond throughout the dreaded lockdowns, going to the gym, enjoying walks along the beach, playing Mariokart or just sitting on the couch watching their favourite shows or movies.

Come October 26, 2024, the pair will combine as husband and wife, continuing to build on the already special relationship that they have formed since that amazing first date in Port Melbourne on May 29, 2018.

The love that they share continues to grow stronger and they cannot wait to celebrate with their closest family and friends on what is set to be the most sensational day yet.
