On Oct 2021 Lance and I started talking on Upward, Christian dating app, but shortly after that I ghosted him. Dec 2021, I started talking to him again and he wanted to meet me, but I kept telling him I was busy. Finally, Jan 4, 2022, I said yes, I’ll meet you for dinner one night after work. We met at Jim n Nicks in Cullman. After that we kept going on dates. My birthday rolls around, and he met me at 6:30am in Cullman before I headed to Birmingham with flowers, my favorite coffee, and chicken minis. I literally cried because no one has ever gone out of their way for me. He met my parents, and I finally met his on Feb 13th, 2022, and as soon as we got in the truck for him to take me home, he asked me to be his girlfriend officially. We celebrated a lot of first this year from vacations, holidays, and even losing loved ones.

In April of 2023 my best friend Aladie took up photography and Lance and I were her models. She mentioned that after a few months she wanted to retake our photos to see how much she had improved. I never thought anymore about it, but little did I know Lance had a plan. Aladie text me in August or September and asked if we would like to be Fall models for her so she could advertise her upcoming Fall photo sessions. I said yes we would love to. Between Lance, Aladie, my friends, and our families knowing what was about take place I was clueless.

Oct 1, 2023, was the date we set to do our Fall photos. We get to Guntersville Lake, and we start taking photos. Meanwhile our families are hiding in the parking lot across from us, but I never saw them. Aladie had us practicing a pose she wanted us to do, and she said okay I’m ready. Lance got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was in shock and then the tears of excitement hit, but I said yes! I turn and our families are running towards us. That day was one of the best days of my life and now I get to marry the man of my dreams!
